Pigeon Point Light"Pescadero, California"
Built: 1872 "This 115 foot tall tower is one of the tallest on the west coast. It is the best example in California of a classic sea coast tower. Located between Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay, Pigeon Point was named for the wreck of the Clippership Carrier Pigeon at the point in 1853. The lantern room still houses the original first-order lens, though it is no longer operational. An automated aero beacon now serves as the light. It is currently leased to the California Department of Parks and Recreation."
