Lighthouses: A Photographic Journey – ipl: Information You Can Trust

Seventh Great Lakes Lighthouse Expedition

May 21, 1989
Lake St. Clair

May 21, 1989, Sunday

12:30 pm
We were invited by Marsha and Barry Wheeler to go aboard their boat for the day. We went right after church with Andrea joining us to enjoy the sun with Wendy and Pam. Their boat is docked at the Sassy Marina near Algonac and close to Anchor Bay. We took the North Channel of the St. Clair River out into Lake St. Clair and saw the St. Clair Flats Old Channel Front and Rear Range Lights. The lake was a little choppy but we went on out to the Lake St. Clair Light anyway. We got pictures, too. It was a beautiful, warm sunny day and the girls enjoyed tanning themselves. We had dinner on the boat once we were docked again. We left around dark and Andrea drove the entire way. She’d had her permit a few weeks. This was just a couple months after Wendy’s auto accident.

Trip Totals: 3 Lighthouses. 1 day.
