Jim Barnes, 1933-

Choctaw

Jim Barnes was born near Summerfield, Oklahoma in 1933 and is of Choctaw and Welsh heritage. He studied at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and received his Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Arkansas. Barnes currently serves as Professor of Comparative Literature at Northeast Missouri State University, and is the founder and editor of the Chariton Review.
