Mary Mathur is an Iroquois scholar whose writings about the great Iroquois leader Logan were quoted in McGuffy’s Reader Her Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Wisconsin in 1971, entitled The Iroquois in Time and Space: A Native American Nationalistic Movement, argued that the Iroquois political model strongly influenced the founding fathers of the United States government.
