Madison, who was raised on the Tulalip Reservation in Washington State, is of Snohomish, Snoqualmie and Tlingit descent on his father's side. After serving as a Marine in the Vietnam War, he studied English at Everett Community College He currently lives in the Harbour Pointe area of Mukilteo. Awards and Honors
