Rosebud Yellow Robe Frantz, member of the Lakota-Oyate (Sioux) tribe and a great-grandniece of Chief Sitting Bull, was born in Rapid City, S.D. and spent most of her life in New York. Her career included many years as director of the Indian Village at Jones Beach State Park on Long Island. Later, she continued to educate others about Native American culture through her writings and lectures. She passed away in 1992.
