72 Hours in The Dark
We are living in a world where technology is our everything. We use it everyday for hours on end, it’s how we communicate, get our knowledge and figure our way around town. Schools rely on it to get their work through and our offices rely on it to communicate and get our jobs done. Honestly our society can’t live without it. Hi i’m Payson. My mom works for the government and is giving me a little insight about what is about to happen with our government and the society. I can’t tell anyone what is about to happen so I decided to write it down instead. So here it is, the government is about to take away technology/social media of 72 hours (crazy right?). Their reasoning for this is that they believe technology is starting to take over; watching the social media platform for months they’ve decided it’s about time for a technology cleanse. They are doing this because they believe we are too

It’s the last day of technology being turned off. People have adapted and they are content without technology. I have been walking around and going to populated places. All I can say I that it was nice seeing people without their phones, their heads always were looking down and then not running into people because they were paying attention to their phones. People were actually walking around and having genuine conversations and smiling and looked happy.
The government had just announced the shutdown has been lifted and everyone can now go back to using technology. I wonder how this has affected people? For me, I realized I don’t need technology to entertain myself or make me happy. So tomorrow I’m going to go back to see how people are reacting.
So today I went out and saw an actual difference. People weren’t on their phones, they were actually walking around without their phones even though they had full access, they weren’t using their phones. When I was walking around the outside mall this girl approached me.

“Unbroken” is about a teenage girl named Lauren, she seems like a normal teenager doing sports everyday. But then she is faced with a huge problem… she’s diagnosed with cancer. Lauren was perfectly healthy until May 2012, when her mom noticed a lump (tumor) on her stomach and being a nurse knew it was dangerous took her to the doctor. It was then Lauren was diagnosed with neuroblastic cancer. To treat the deadly disease, Lauren had chemotherapy.
Exciting time to be a baseball fan. With all of the drama and distractions in the sports world lately, it is refreshing to turn on TV and watch a sport that is devoid (for the most part) of drama. In case you have been so caught up that you haven 't been paying much attention, here are a few things you should know. Giancarlo Stanton: With just three games remaining, Stanton needs just one HR to join the elusive 60-HR-club. How elusive is this club?
THE APOCALYPSE One night the news broadcasted an important message about something was happening with the nuclear power plant. They advised everybody to stay inside and lock all the doors. No one knew what was happening. But then then they said the people were going crazy and attacking people, so there were 3 friends john, snake, and bill they fortified their house and waited for something to happen.
Hello, I am Ryan Judge, and I have developed (with a group) a 6-week program to train a client for a 5k. A 5k is 3.1 miles, so it is an endurance run, something that is not meant to be done fast. In this essay, I am going to tell you about the fashion of our training program, and why me made it the way it is. The client that we made our 6-week training program for is a 13 year-old girl with no medical history.
One of the most significant advances in technology in recent times has been the invention of the cell phone. Cell phones have become a massive part of the world that people live in today. The ability to communicate with anybody in any part of the world whenever possible has been a substantial improvement to the way individuals live. Technology has allowed people to connect in more ways than ever before, but it is currently disconnecting people from the world right in front of them. Paul Goldberger’s essay “Disconnected Urbanism” incorporates multiple persuasive methods to be successful in effectively convincing its audience that cell phones have taken people away from the places around them.
Lindsay Wickman writes about the formal and informal use of how technology over the years has shaped our government and our overall system of actions to how we adapt to it. Susan Benesch writes about the
Many people attend these Friday Night football games because they see it as a tradition. I was never quite able to understand this until after I graduated high school and had been attending the games every fall Friday night for four years as a part of the marching band. Now as a recent graduate of Cambria Heights, I have come to understand the meaning of these Friday night football games like everyone else does. These games are not just a time to come and see an entertaining football game or the marching band performance (although those are perfectly great reasons to go!), but it is a time to catch up with friends, both those who we see often and those who we do not see so much anymore. These Friday night games serve as a time where people
Sound familiar? Although many people including the author, believe that we are dependent on our phones to take us to an oasis only inches from our faces which has only made negative impacts on society, but researchers and others alike
Four Days For the Kids It has been brought to Bismarck School District’s attention that surrounding schools have decided to attend school only four days a week. Going to school for four days sounds great, but is it really all it’s cracked up to be once you take a closer look at it? Bismarck School District should not attend school four days a week. We should stick to our normal schedule, and continue having classes five days a week.
Technology definitely is affecting how humans communicate and interact, but that does necessarily have to be a negative thing. For instance, the popular social media application Skype, has kept over 74 million people from around the globe connected with one another. Despite humans spending much more time with their devices, like in “The Pedestrian”, many are not using this time to mindlessly stare at the television. Skype is just one example that connects people who may be a long distance apart, but will still spend an average of 100 minutes a month (“Skype Company Statistics”) still keeping in touch with one another. While some do use their their screens to block out the people around them, a majority use their smart phones and computers to keep connected with their
Sometimes people use television to forget about a hard time at work, others using phones in public, causing lack of communication with people nearby. “Little by little, technology has become an integral part of the way that people communicate with one another and has increasingly taken the place of face-to-face communication. Due to the rapid expansion of technology, many individuals fear that people may be too immersed in this digital world and not present enough in the real world,”. People, especially in the United States, spend so much time on the internet they get separated from their real life and don't know what’s going on around them. Not only does Technology take away from everyone's real life, but it also distances people from family and friends.
This, as a result, will certainly cause humanity as a whole to lose their own instinct of independency and self-control. What will be left of society will most unfortunately be unbalanced, inefficient, and appalling. As a result, society should come to the conclusion that technology isn’t disastrous itself alone, it is the connection and reliance that we have with it that makes it disastrous. Before we come face to face with terrible and unexplainable situations, it is wise for us as a society to reach a decision to overcome this dependency and be able to function properly once again to continue to live a prosperous and fulfilling
Technology has always been progressing thus it is rampant in our society today. We use technology; depend on technology in our daily life and our needs and demands for technology keep on rising (Ramey, 2012). Wherever you look, you will see people holding different kinds of technology like cell phone, laptop, tablets and etc. It appears to most of us that technology is a necessity to the point where we can no longer live without it. According to Gavin (2013), technology moves at a rapid pace, and can be hard to keep up with at times.
