Advocate-Practitioner Role Analysis

Leadership has many definitions. Chin, Desormeaux, and Sawyer (2016) define leadership as a relationship between followers and a leader with the intent to promote change through a mutual vision. Therefore, leaders are active influences in the outcome of organizations, through their decision-making, strategies, and influence on followers (Dinh et al., 2014). Additionally, in the nursing context, it has been documented that a leader 's style plays a factor in patient outcomes (Fischer, 2016). Indeed, in an ever-changing, complex health care environment, nursing leadership has become a crucial factor in managing challenges and maintaining patient safety (Fischer, 2016).

She is passionate about improving nursing education. Under her leadership, she has increased the amount of money for nursing education. Helping the nurses around her continue their education and become more knowledgeable health care professionals. She is supportive of change and is always looking for ways to improve the work environment for her nurses and improve patient care. She looks out for her nursing staff and always trying to help them in any way.

VA nurses assess, provides nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates (ADPIE) care based on maturational focused components. Undertakes accountability for the management of care concentrated on the patient’s process through the range of care, patient and family education, patient self-management, and accompanying circumstances that influence the patient’s satisfaction. The VA nurse considers all attributes of the individual, including age and stages of life, presence of health, race and culture, values, and prior experiences. Administers medications and procedures per policies and procedures. The VA nurse effects patient care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Change agents are aware of the needs of the environment, need to upgrading nursing practice, and recognizing that change comes hard for people. Change agents are nurse leaders that inspire nurses to incorporate clinical change into their work environment through communication and education (Laureate Education, Inc., 2012e). Therefore, nursing, IT is not the only change taking place, but a change in clinical changes occurring at the same time. For example, Roy Simpson discusses that there are many 1000 of nomenclature that describe diseases, medication dosages, colors of infectious blood, mucus and tissue.

Nursing is a most trusted and gratifying profession. As a nurse educator, I will express my passion for teaching by incorporating features such as clinical assessments, practical application of theory, evaluation, and role modeling into advanced nursing practice, from previous experiences and current experience and clinical practicum to find success and gratification in students chosen profession as well empowering leaners to develop their own strengths, beliefs, and personal attributes to become a good professional. Personally, I do have a positive attitude towards the personal and professional growth, and value ongoing learning and will stive to instill the same into my students learnig journey .. Nursing has never been simple or easy, nor is serving as a patient advocate. However, it is important to include advocacy as a part of nursing. Advocacy is standing up for the rights of all individuals and must include interpersonal relationships between nurses, patients, professional colleagues, and the public. Nightingale’s experiences in nursing demonstrated to her the value of advocating for nurses and patients.

I care about providing the best holistic healthcare I possibly can for my patients through evidence-based practice. I respect individuals’ race, socioeconomic class, gender, and sexual orientation. I work well with others and I strive to help create a good working environment where people can communicate, ask questions, learn new information, and feel respected. With this New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, I hope to be exposed to many different clinical situations. I hope to further develop my clinical leadership skills and to gain new knowledge.

In my healthcare assistant role, I collaborate with independent advocates to identify signs of vulnerability or mistreatment, report concerns, and advocate for appropriate interventions and support. Additionally, an independent advocate assists patients in navigating the complex healthcare system. They provide guidance on accessing services, understanding healthcare policies and procedures, and resolving any issues or complaints that may arise. By supporting patients in navigating administrative processes and advocating for their needs, independent advocates help to reduce barriers and improve the overall patient

When I raised my hand, and took my oath of service I had no idea of the journey Leadership Philosophy that laid ahead of me. Joining late in life was one transition, but the transition into the Non-Commission Officer (NCO) Corps, and a leader has been a very rewarding experience. The values that were instilled in me as a child and those that have been drilled into my make-up as an NCO are very similar. The tenants of the seven Army Values have been what I have lived by most of my life and career, however there are four out of the seven values that I hold most valuable and live out on a day to day basis.

Clinical Nurse Leaders are part of an interdisciplinary team members working together to plan and implement most effective patient care. There are differences in terms of leadership. Family Nurse Practitioners act as a leader related to patient care in terms of patient diagnosis, treatment modalities for the wellbeing of the patient and community. Registered Nurses with their work experiences can work as clinical nurse leaders and monitor the care provided by the nurses on the unit. They participate in other nursing organizations or committees and provide suggestions to improve health care system.

Nurses are critical for promoting health in the society. The profession is highly flexible, since they specialize in diverse operations in the medical field. Registered nurses, for instance, are responsible for the administration of medicine and inoculations to patients (American Nurses ' Association, 2000). Additionally, these professionals observe, record, and enlighten doctors of any changes in a patient’s health. Nurses interpret and evaluate diagnostic examinations to determine an individual’s condition, as well as making the necessary adjustments in patient treatment plans on their health progress.

The role of the nurse has always been that of the first point of contact for the patient to the clinical care team. As outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (2016) the role of the nurse is to advocate, educate, liaise with, and provide adequate and appropriate clinical care to the patient. Additionally, the nurse represents the statistical majority of the Australian clinical team, outnumbering medical doctors at a ratio of almost 4:1 (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2013) which is consistent throughout all sectors of healthcare. Therefore, the nurse has a powerful and tangible effect on policy and the outcomes for patients in the clinical setting.

Introduction: Any organization recognizes the significance of leadership and its crucial role in achieving their goals and success. In healthcare organizations, the complexity of the system and the difference in defining its success goals are reshaping the practice of leadership and its standards. According to House et al. (2002, p.5) a leader is able to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute to the success of the organization or task. Healthcare and business settings are different in terms of goals and system contexts.

INTRODUCTION A leader is one of the main component of an organization. There is no organization without a leader. A leader is a person who have the power or authority to lead, guide, or command other individual, a team, or an organization. As an organization is a tool to achieve an objective, there is a need of a leader to lead everyone in the organization to achieve the objective.
