The lack of alcohol consumption brings no diseases or problems to a person 's lifestyle. This is because alcohol affects the way nutrients are stored in the body. The absorption of alcohol (Ethanol) is decreased by food, including fatty acids and provides 29kJ of energy. Ethanol is a simple molecule within alcohol, which are active ingredients causing the body to be affected in different ways . The availability of alcohol is a key factor in the consistent increase of alcoholism cases. The only limitation to buying alcohol it is being the age of twenty-one. Alcohol “a colorless volatile flammable liquid that is the intoxicating constituent of wine, beer, spirits, and other drinks, and is also used as an industrial solvent and as fuel.” Over a certain amount of time, consuming alcohol modifies the equity of a few chemicals in your brain, which is what cause problems with extreme usage of this poisonous beverage. Alcohol also increase the levels of dopamine, creating people to feel satisfied from drinking it. Needless, long-term drinking can lessen or increase the levels of particular chemicals, provoking your body to cry out for alcohol to reestablish favorable feelings or to sidestep pessimistic feelings.
Moonshiners were in a profitable but sometimes tough business during the Prohibition. “In 1923, explaining how growing quantities of liquor were being smuggled into the United States from Canada, Roy Hanes said, “ You cannot keep liquor from dripping though a dotted line”” (Okrent, 153). The government had poisoned the alcohol that was still in rotation for non-recreation purposes, so no one could drink illegally. This caused the ‘wets’ to find a way to remove the poison from the alcohol so they could still obtain a profit. “Denver drinkers could look to cunning moonshiners who placed animal carcasses near their distilleries, thus disguising the telltale scent of sour mash with the more potent aroma of rotting flesh” (Okrent, 128).
In addition to this, it points out how the whiskey would just worsen the lives of the common family. At the meeting of the American Medical Association in 1917, the House of Delegates adopted a resolution that stated, “WHEREAS, We believe that the use of alcohol as a beverage is detrimental to the human economy, and WHEREAS, Its use in therapeutics, as a tonic or a stimulant or as a food has no scientific basis.” (American Medical Association) The AMA declared that alcohol harms the economy. It has no medical or nutritional benefits and therefore consuming it is unnecessary.
According to MyDrinkware website (2015), Binge drinking can cause aggressive behavior, alcohol poisining, and memory loss. As I continued my research i came upon the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. According to the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (2014), it can also lead to increased chances of STD. While all these are important concerns the number one problem it can lead to is increased chances in car accidents…DUI. When people drink they don't act rationally and tend to do things they wouldn't normally do.
Alcoholism is defined as “a chronic disorder characterized by dependence on alcohol, repeated excessive use of alcoholic beverages, the development of withdrawal symptoms on reducing or ceasing intake….” (Alcoholism) Notably, in 2015, one out of every twelve Americans suffered from Alcohol abuse or dependence. Firstly, moderate drinking is defined as one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men.
And then both of you will be lonely in your life. In my view, these reasons can cause to commit suicide because drinking affects their brain and it causes some psychological problems and they can not think carefully in their life while they are making decisions. Last but not least, using alcohol always affects our success in a bad way, because when we drink something , we can not get up early, so we go to school lately and we can miss our lessons. It also affects our exams. This circle continues until our work life.
Alcohol consumption is a common practice across the United States of America and several other countries in the world. Despite it being a shared practice in most parts of the world, heterogeneity in alcohol consumption among demographic subpopulations (gender and race) exists. Such heterogeneity is also true for health burdens and complications associated with alcohol consumption. This is especially true when the groups are segmented into gender and race. Gender is a very distinctive state with little to no middle ground.
According to the Canadian Health Network, guidelines for low-risk drinking are: • Drink no more than two standard drinks on any day (see table below). • Men should limit their weekly total of standard drinks to 14 or fewer. • Women should limit their weekly total of standard drinks to nine or fewer. • Drink slowly to avoid getting drunk.
