Born in the Caribbean in the West Indies, abandoned by his father and orphaned at the age of 13 by his late mother who had died. Later moved to New York, became a lawyer and transitioned to nationalism thus giving him the important role of handling the weight of the debt America had accumulated $54 million deep after the Revolutionary War (Digital History). A year ago, any mention of Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton would make me groan and recall a dry, boring sentence about The Federalist Papers in my AP United States History textbook. Now? I think of a charming, determined ladies’ man with a bit of a temper that can throw-down the best rap the eighteenth century has ever heard. Hamilton, a game-changing, hip-hop inspired musical, brings Ron Chernow’s biography of the titular Founding Father to the Broadway stage.

Understanding Macbeth. I am going to show my understanding of Shakespeare's Macbeth by comparing Macbeth’s personality and life to another person. The person I found had lots of similarities to Macbeth was America’s first treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton. In this essay, I will briefly talk about the life of Alexander Hamilton, explain why I chose him, and what they had in common. Alexander Hamilton, founder of America’s first national bank, and New York Post, and treasury secretary for George Washington, was born in St.Croix in 1775 or 1777.

Alexander Hamilton began his life as a young boy living in the British West Indies. At the age of 11, Hamilton began working tirelessly to provide for his family. With time and experience, Hamilton started working with international commerce and slave trade. His boss, Hugh Knox, recognized his ambition and decided to send him to America. Hamilton attended King’s college, other known as Columbia University, and became more involved in politics.

From the moment he was born in late July, 357 B.C., Alexander the Great was destined to make his mark on history. The son of Philip II, king of Macedonia, and his princess wife Olympias, Alexander was practically born to be a leader. As the young prince grew, those around him came to realize he would someday be known far beyond the reaches of Macedonia, as evidenced in a famed interaction between Philip II and his son, in which Philip tells Alexander, "O my son, find yourself a kingdom equal to and worthy of your ambitions, for Macedonia is too little for you." At the age of 20, Alexander was chosen to rule Macedonia following the assassination of his father.

Alexander Hamilton (2004) is a detailed true story of one of the most important figures in American history. It is based on Hamilton’s early life. As a politician, as a revolutionary war hero, and the first treasury secretary, Hamilton dedicated his life and intellect to unifying and strengthening the United States. Hamilton in truth did perhaps more than any other one person to secure the power of the American Union. Though he was never president, he was a hero deemed as a true founding father, title he kept till his death.

Hamilton is a hip hop, rap musical about one of America's founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton and includes music from Lin Manuel Miranda. Hamilton is about Alexander Hamilton determined to make his mark in America. He goes from an orphan to Washington's right hand man to a rebel to a war hero. He even becomes the first Treasurer of America. Miranda first presented “Alexander” to President Obama during a poetry jam.

Alexander Hamilton was a major part in the making of the United States of America. Firstly, He was George Washington’s protege during the Revolutionary War and and was part of the Continental Congress in 1782, 1783, and 1788 Secondly, He was the first Secretary of the Treasury in the United States. Lastly, Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton got into a dispute from the election of 1801 and the standoff led to Alexander Hamilton killed on that day. In conclusion, Alexander Hamilton was a major part in the making of the United States of America.

Even though Hamilton wasn’t one of our presidents, he showed great leadership throughout his terms in the secretary of treasury, he practiced law after the wars, and he also showed leadership being one of our Founding Fathers (who were responsible winning our wars against England.) After Hamilton was drafted for the Constitutional Convention by New Year, Hamilton got to attend a meeting in Philadelphia. While Alexander was in Philadelphia he had little to no impact on the convention because he didn’t fully represent New York. Even though Hamilton didn’t represent the Federalist (who strongly opponents to sign the new constitution), Hamilton signed the new constitution as an individual. Then after Hamilton signed the for the new constitution, he got to write “at least two-thirds of the essays” that included some of the most important ones that would explain the powers of each of the branches.

Despite being faced with horrible and traumatic situations, Alexander Hamilton did not lose sight of his ambitions and dreams. Much like how great leaders possess self-direction and self-awareness, Hamilton knew what he wanted and was not afraid to go after it. By the age of eleven or twelve Hamilton was already an orphan, his father having abandoned the family and his mother dying of sickness (Biography.com). At the time of his birth, most still considered illegitimacy a stain on one's character.

While a literary device, tragic heroes also appear in real life. A perfect example of a real life tragic hero is Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the Treasury. This modern tragic hero started life as an orphan in poverty, living in the Caribbean, but his elevated character of exceptional literary skills, wit and progressive political ideas eventually landed him a spot as one of the most influential people in the United States. Alexander Hamilton had a positive hamartia, as he refused to remain quiet about the injustices of his country, oblivious to the danger it created for him and his family. The downfall of Hamilton occurred gradually.

Alexander the Great was born on July 20, 356 B.C., in Pella, in the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia his parents were King Philip II of Macedon and Queen Olympia, daughter of King Neoptolemus he was a prince and had one sister Alexander grew up very close to his mother as he hardly saw his father who always had his nose berried in military campaigns. With only his mom as a role model she raised him and his sister very well but it brought great resentment towards alexanders father. As Alex grew older he received education from one of his relatives named, Leonidas of Epirus. His education consisted of mathematics, archery and horsemanship.

In 1777, Hamilton had become George Washington’s assistant. In the year of 1788 he convinced New Yorkers to ratify the U.S Constitution. He then became the secretary if the treasury. He was a founding father, served in the military, studied law, was involved in politics and government. He is also on U.S currency (10-dollar bill) who was never a president.
