Alexander The Great: His Father's Legacy

Alexander the Great in my opinion had two sides. While both were “great”, he had in my eyes two separate personalities both of which were great but one was very war related and the other side showed more compassion that you would have thought been from this king. Alexander the Great was a very dominate ruler largely because of an exceptional military, but he was also a horribly brutal conqueror. Alexander the Great was very brutal when it came to slavery. He sold 30,000 Phoenicians alone into slavery.

In some cases, greatness can be defined as showing concern for others, leadership, and intelligence. These are a few of the qualities that made Alexander the Great, great. In 336 BCE Alexander the Great inherited the kingdom of Macedonia from his father at the age of 20. Now in charge, Alexander went on to conquer the world.

Throughout history, there has been great military leaders come and go. Although, one of the most well-known conquerors is Alexander the Great. Many people thought he was a good leader and a good king. However, the people he conquered think otherwise. The people who supported him say he was compassionate towards others.

He then set off and conquered Egypt, the Persian Empire, and won a hard battle against India before his troops forced him to return home. Alexander then died at the age of 32. Most people see Alexander as Great because he conquered a lot of land, built a massive empire, and was a military genius, but Alexander was not so great. Alexander the Great did not deserve his title as Great because he gained his power by fear, killed innocent

Alexander 's father, King Philip was in charge of Macedonia, until he was murdered. Alexander became king as a teenager. Alexander was born on July 20, 356 BC in Pella, Macedon. He died on June 10, 323 BC in Babylon. Alexander was known for conquering a great deal of land in Asia and Europe.

The greatness of Alexander, The king Macedonia has been questioned from now and then. In the History of Alexander the Great, he has conquered Persia, Egypt, Asia Minor, and the Middle East, the combination of 2 million square miles, in 11 years. He has brought people together, not by forcing them to assimilate, but by letting them keep their own cultures. And although as great as he seems, he died due to a fever he caught while in Asia. Alexander does deserve to be called great for his extravagant and impressive achievements.

Alexander The Great’s title of “The Great” was not an exaggeration. To earn the title of “The Great”, you must've done some extremely good things as your reign as a king, queen, or emperor. Alexander The Great did many great and powerful things during his lifetime. He established an extremely powerful military, and he knew how to strategically conquer land, and he was interested in turning this conquered land into powerful areas.

At the age of 20, he inherited the kingdom of Macedonia and had set out on his first mission: conquering Persia. Alexander was given the nickname “Alexander the Great”, due to his success in his Greek empire. However, after taking a closer look at how Alexander maintained his empire and treated his troops, it is evident that he was vain, cruel, and disloyal, which proves that Alexander the Great was not truly great.

He was known and still is known as Alexander the Great, till today. To say, Alexander’s empire was 2,000,000 square miles (Document E) after his death and it took him 11 years (Document E) to build his empire (took so much time). Unfortunately, his empire held together only for 10 years (Document E) after his death, which was a very short time. As we know, he was a very intelligent military leader.

Alexander the Great was a successful leader and tactician. Even though he was successful in these departments, we don’t see much of his politician skills being used. Alexander the Great, born in the northern kingdom of Greece, Macedonia, is easily one of the most famous people in history. Known for conquering most of what they knew as the world, Alexander accomplished a lot. From leadership, to tactics he used in battle, Alexander the Great was a successful man.

Alexander the Great led an eventful and prosperous life, eliciting tremendous change across the globe. He built an incredible empire that spanned across Macedonia, Egypt, Greece and India, and contributed to the widespread use of Hellenistic culture. As well as bringing about massive political and socioecnomic change, transforming the world as we know it. To begin, one aspect of Alexander's legacy that I believe to be significant is the long-term political and socioeconomic impact he had on the world. Alexander helped create a new era in history known as The Hellenistic Age and brought about many new developments in areas such as math, education, and architecture.

Alexander the Great is one of the most famous people in our world’s history. He achieved great challenges no other man could do. Alexander himself said, “There is nothing impossible to him who will try.” His achievments prove this quote without a doubt. Alexander of Macedon was born in 356 BCE to King Philip and his wife Olympia.

Alexander the Great and the Macedonian Empire dominated the ancient world from 336 to 323 B.C. through military force and cultural exchange. The army of Macedonia had achieved an abundance of success due to Alexander's ability to provide his militaries with the best weapons, instill the training needed to perform battle formations and endure battle as well as the attitude needed to overcome adversity such as being outnumbered by the Persians. Despite conquering various lands, Alexander the Great chose not to impose his rule, but rather embrace certain customs, in order to spread Hellenism and eliminate the perception of being foreign; the process of unification impacted western civilization by mixing the people of Macedonia with other conquered

Glorious men have graced the earth and have left significant impressions on the following generations. Alexander the Great suits that profile like none other. As arguably one of the most influential military leaders in history, Alexander conquered the majority of the known world, including large-scale empires such as the Persian. Succeeding his father, Philip II, to the throne at the age of 20, Alexander commanded an already skilled military, which he schooled further in the beginning of his reign. Even militarily significant empires had no chance against Alexander 's military brilliance and so he constructed one of the largest empires in history.

Alexander led his empire well and took over much land, but even after he died, his empire lasted 10 years together before they split up (DOC E). His leadership shows that he was a great ruler and a brave
