While Fury is set during the final months of World War II, All Quiet on the Western Front is set during World War I. This difference in time period means that the two works offer different perspectives on war. Fury portrays a war that is more technologically advanced, with tanks and other advanced weaponry, while All Quiet on the Western Front portrays a war that is more primitive, with soldiers fighting on foot and relying on trench warfare. This difference in technology can be both more deadly and helpful for the soldiers. The more advanced technology is Fury was more deadly for the soldiers which is shown in the heart wrenting combat that lead to thousands of deaths in WW2. On the other hand, the lack of technology in AQOTWF ment less medical and sanitary needs which lead to much more non-combat related deaths like trenchfoot and the …show more content…
Fury is more action-oriented, with a focus on intense battle scenes. This shows the physical effects of war and how it can affect how one’s future and mentality can be changed by war. All Quiet on the Western Front, on the other hand, is more introspective, with a focus on the psychological impact of war on soldiers. This was disliked by the connections and relationships that the soldiers had with one another that made their deaths more heartfelt and real. The book also portrays war as a senseless and brutal conflict, while Fury portrays war as a necessary evil that must be fought to defeat an enemy. This shows how war can be seen as a necessity in life and how it can be more as a vendetta to our human lives with no positive impact on
The global bloodshed of World War I began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. The casualties of the war were at least 38 million, while others suffered significant losses, and were badly injured. World War I was significant in the advancement in weaponry, artillery, and strategies but still lacked the proper living conditions for the soldiers to remain healthy. The book All Quiet on the Western Front, narrated by Paul Bäumer, and written by Erich Maria Remarque tells the story of young German soldiers fighting on the German front during World War I. What began as a patriotic and heroic adventure, the soldiers begin to realize the harsh and grim reality of the war, as they experienced weeks of brutal training, inhumane officials,
Identify and describe the themes of All Quiet on the Western Front. (15 points) I was not there for most of the movie, but the themes were war and what happens to people during the war. Though many movies try to romanticize war and make it look like a happy place where there is only pride and joy for the country they are serving. This movie shows people what war is actually like, it doesn’t really sugarcoat much about war.
The book All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Remarque portrayed war as a great hole of death and despair dug by a nation's higher power for the citizens to patriotically march into. All Quiet on the Western Front was written as a 'new-age' war story; The book focused on the horrors of war rather than the romantic veneer other previous writers had plastered on. The War obliterated the distinction between civilian and military targets. 'Armies were no longer targeting just their opponents, but the civilian towns that supply them too, killing innocent people. People still today, who are innocent civilians, are being killed for being on the wrong side.

All Quiet on the Western Front highlights the dreadful parts of combat and dehumanizing aspects of war. The film also relays the disillusionment of soldiers as they witness the true brutalities of war. The emotional toll that the soldiers have to endure results in trauma for years down the line. Similarly, Wonder Woman explores the devastating effects of war on humanity and presents a bleak view of human nature and the potential for destruction that lies within all humans. Despite the two films' differences as far as the content goes, both exemplify themes of loss and trauma as well as the aftermath of war.
All Quiet on the Western Front is a very largely anti war book. Erich Maria Remarque bases the story off of some of his experiences in World War 1. Remarque writes about soldiers from the German perspective in World War 1. This discusses the brutality and senseless portion of war which really takes a toll on soldiers’ lives. It also broaches the idea of how world leaders are so disconnected from what atrocities that these soldiers are committing and how this is slowly ruining their life.

All Quiet on the Western Front shows that war, to a man, can lead to nothing but violence and despair. Rather it's from losing friends in war or the sights you see and things you hear.

All Quiet on the Western Front tells the story of Paul Baumer, a German young man who is drafted into the army with some of his high school friends. Unfortunately, he and his friends have unrealistic ideas about what they are going to face while serving. The movie shows the tragedy of war through the emotional connection characters have, and focuses on the experiences had by the newly enlisted group of friends. I both enjoyed and did not enjoy the movie All Quiet on the Western Front. The parts that I enjoyed included the detail and historical accuracy which could be lined up with the information we have been learning in class.

Review All Quiet on the Western Front is great piece of literature because it incorporates a lot of different aspects into the book. It has the action of war, the happiness of friendship, and the sorrowness of loss and given up hope. It varies from other books i have read about war and loss because it gives a perspective that I have never seen through before. The book is based on the lives of German soldiers in World War I, rather than the usual book through the eyes of an American soldier.
The horrors of war can be seen throughout most of the novel All Quiet on the Western Front. Although this novel takes place during World War I, horrors of war have been around since the beginning of war, and can still be seen here today. Almost all soldiers, regardless of which war they’re in, end up losing themselves. This is due to the experiences these soldiers have gone through and the horrors of war that they have seen or been a part of. War is a gruesome part of human history, and the different horrors often hidden within can tear the soldiers apart, both mentally and physically.
