The desirable variables to this study were to ascertain the status of each child’s best friend as well as their other friends. There are many aspects of society that can be compared when doing an analysis of three cultures: socio-economic statuses, occupations, fertility rates, diets, religions, economics, and politics are few among many. Education, and particularly early childhood education, is a fascinating topic to study when conducting a comparison because it has elements of all traits and greatly mirrors the values of the culture of that which it is present, “Preschools are sites where a variety of domains, interests, and social actors intersect. Preschool is where child rearing meets education; where the world of parents and home first meets the world of teachers and school” (Tobin, Hsueh, & Karasawa, 2009, p. 2). According to Tobin, Hsueh, and Karasawa (2009),
the article written by Claudio Sanchez, it is stated that researchers have determined that Mexican American toddlers do not develop as quickly as Anglo American children. Mexican American children have a delayed development in their ability to speak, read and the development of their senses. I can look back on how many times my parents read to me, engaged me in their conversations and interacted with me; and see the positive affects it had on me. However, my younger cousins did not have to same interaction with adults and only engaged with children of their own age. Friends are one of the most important aspects to life as they are able to act as the required psychological pillar of support. This scenario is highly relatable to Marjane’s experiences when she is studying abroad in Austria.

As such the effects of racial disparities on these learners can begin in kindergarden and have lasting effects on how people, learners, and educators arrive at understanding.
Students reported feeling more connected to their school community when they had positive relationships with their peers, such as shared interests, humor, and mutual support. These findings are consistent with social identity theory, which posits that individuals derive a sense of belonging from their identification with social groups (Tajfel & Turner, 1986). Middle school students, in particular, are in a developmental stage where they are forming and solidifying their social identities, and positive peer relationships can play a significant role in this process (Rubin et al.,
