They’re only animals Imagine being used for testing, and being forced to endure many horrific experiences. Luckily, you suddenly wake up and breathe a sigh of relief when you realize it was all just a bad dream. Unfortunately this is a sad reality for the animals being tested on. This nightmare is a demoralizing reality they have to go through in order to “help the human society” while in most cases they are just being used to create unnecessary drugs that won’t significantly help society. Animal testing is an experiment done only with animals which seeks to find and control the behaviors or biological systems of the animal that is being experimented on. Three main points that are going to be discussed are It is very expensive, the animals …show more content…
Meaning that all the benefit to the human being from the animal testing could be done in other ways instead of using the animals for example, “Experimenting on cells instead of using whole animals, or using computer models”(BBC). Those are also some better ways to do the experimentation because they would get a much higher and better understanding of the genes which won’t negatively affect the animals and also that the way the humans will be sure that the drug they’re taking is for sure to be a positive …show more content…
Drugs in particular can carry significant dangers with their use but animal testing allows researchers to initially gauge the safety of drugs prior to commencing trials on humans. This means that human harm is reduced and human lives are saved”(Murnaghan). Analyzing the text above it has a clear claim which is true it may save lives and all these good things but as mentioned before most of the experiments done don’t get used which makes the animal's death be in vain the researchers might just see it as any other death but animals matter and don't deserve to die being tested on something that will never be
This research is unfair and animals in this test don’t understand anything that is going to happen to them. Furthermore, animals “suffer painful procedures and isolations”(Source A) that really impacts the way scientists are saving human lives. However if we don’t stop animal testing, we could save lives but we won’t be helping the innocent animals the could be endangered and-and almost instinct. There are also alternatives that scientist could use to see if the product they have created could impact human lives. I think that if scientist test one cell organisms they could find the result of the experiment and see what could impact the entire body of a human or an
Millions upon millions of animals are killed mercilessly every year due to these experiments. “Most animal experiments are not relevant to human health, they do not contribute meaningfully to medical advances and many are undertaken simply out of curiosity and do not even pretend to hold promise for curing illnesses” (Animal). Not only does this testing waste animal lives, but humans as well. Because animal testing is so ineffective, many humans have contracted illness, irritations, mental problems, etc. because of these drugs being successful on animals and not humans.
In “Animal Testing is Bad Science” states that “The Federal Drug Administration has noted that 92 percent of all drugs that are shown to be safe and effective in animal test fail in human trials because they don’t work or are dangerous.” This shows that doing experiments on animals are unreliable and do not always have the same effect on humans. In addition, animal experimentation is unethical and unreliable and it puts the animals in
Animal testing simply means the use of non-human animals in experiments, which indeed arouse great controversy in recent years. More and more people think that human being’s benefits can’t outweigh animals’
Animals are not greatly harmed in pharmaceutical tests, they are still proved wasteful and
Animal Testing, also known as Animal Research or Animal experimentation, is often an incredibly cruel process for the animals
Animal testing has been done for centuries to medically test drugs and come to a conclusion of the drug being safe for humans, and what the drugs side effects are. Animal testing takes place to make sure medical products are safe to be used. Since animals do not share the same characteristics of humans, there is no way to fully guarantee the drugs are safe for humans. Animal testing is not essential for medical innovation because animals are very different from human beings, making them poor test subjects, and the tests are cruel and inhumane.
Each year, about 100 million animals are used for both scientific and commercial testing. From its genesis at around 500 BC, animal testing has remained a topic of great controversy. Media organizations have exposed these practices and organizations have been springing up rapidly in defense of animal treatment, but is it really a question of ethics or a series of fallacies? Science has proved the latter, as animal testing is not only a vital contributor to sustaining the human population but also an important constituent to biopharmaceutical research. Animal testing is a crucial component of medical research.
If it wasn't for animals, some people wouldn't be alive. Animal testing has contributed to many life saving cures and treatments. On the other hand,Humans and animals are almost identical in many ways. Prevents us from saving animals from getting a disease. This means that we could use them for testing.
90% of drugs fail during human trials, even though there were promising results in animal testing. Using animals for testing to see if it’s safe for humans gives little data useful for analysis. Studies have shown that drug tests on monkeys are just as useless as those used on other species in showing how human will react to the drug even though it is the closest animal that resembles humans. All animals should be protected from inhumane testing of products that benefit humans because their is alternative testing methods now exist that can take the place of animals, The cells and structure of animals is different from humans because of this they are poor test subjects, when animals are used for testing afterwards they are almost always killed.
Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in United States labs every year. (1) Animals have been used since the 1920s to test the safety and effectiveness of drugs and vaccines in the United States. Animals are the sweetest and most adorable things in the world, I don’t know one person who doesn’t like animals. Companies are taking animals like mice, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even some cats and dogs to test their products. They are hurting animals and killing them when they are done using them.
A lot of people heard the term of animal testing somewhere in their life, but they are not sure what exactly that means. It means animal are expose to drugs, where scientists find out how helpful that medication or cosmetic going to be for human body. Many organization use animal testing in their medical research. A lot of cosmetic and drugs are testing on animal before those medication even make it to market. Every time you buy any eye drops or lips products some people try to look at if those are safe to use.
According to the database “Using Animals for Medical Testing is Unethical and Unnecessary”: “ Before their deaths some are forced to inhale toxic fumes, others are immobilized in restraint devices for hours, some have holes drilled into their skulls, and others have their skin burned off or their spinal cords crushed. In addition to the torment of the actual experiments, animals in laboratories are deprived of everything that is natural and important to them-they are confined to barron cages, socially isolated, and psychologically traumatized. They think, feeling animals who are used in experiments are treated nothing like and nothing more than disposable laboratory equipment. This shows that they are treated horribly and they don't care if the animals get hurt. They don't bother to make them feel like they are where they are supposed to be and so they don't act how they normally would which could throw off the results of the product testing.
Should They Suffer For Our Survival imagine life inside a cage. About to be injected with unknown chemicals. Suddenly, a hand presses you against a cold, hard table, preventing you from moving as the needle inches closer and closer. This is the fate of thousands of animals every day. Animal testing is done to evaluate the effectiveness of new medicines and products.
S1: Animals mustn't be used for testing new medicines (300 words) There are people who believe medical testing is inappropriate not just because it is inhuman but for the fact that human beings are far superior than animals and so trials on animals cannot be vouched to give similar effect on humans(Hajar, R, 2011). Some countries have proper rules for better treatment of animals being tested. It appears to be selfish on humans to use some hit and trial method for their drugs which kills the subjects or makes them invalid as animals. Medical research is evolving every day and there will be a day when these brutalities be wither done away with or minimised.
