Answers to Document B, Eric Farrow: 1. God is the creator of the universe and all things. Because He created time, He is unchanging. He is the same today, yesterday, 4000 years ago, and 4000 years into the future. God is not surprised by history or human actions. God is eternal, meaning not simply that He lives forever but that He has always existed. God is bound to His promises and His curses because having created the law, He is perfect and is unable to break them, unlike us in our sinful nature. God is triune, meaning that He is one God composed of three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God The Holy Spirit. To clarify, God doesn’t have three modes that He switches between depending on the situation; He is all three simultaneously. All three persons have the same characteristics of God: eternal, never changing, holy, omnipotent. No one person of the Trinity is any less than another. 2. The Bible is …show more content…
On the surface, Japan is already a very moral country; modern-day Western views on homosexuality, drugs, feminism, and gender politics are almost nonexistent. That isn’t to say Japan is 1950’s America; it is very flawed and desperately needs a massive movement of the Gospel. Japan has a culture of conformity, and standing out by becoming a Christian is a very real barrier every missionary must face when we build relationships with people and engage in any kind of evangelism. 9. The end IS nigh. In our jail ministry, Kelly and I constantly told the girls we worked with that today is the day of salvation. Christ could come tonight. Even this very hour he could be returning. Christ’s impending return should motivate more of us to evangelism. Fear is the beginning of understanding with our Lord (Proverbs 9:10). I pray many are saved before the return of Christ, and it is one of my motivations to become a tent-maker/missionary in Japan.
He inspired his followers to write the bible. They also believe that God is in the form of Three Persons. It is called, “Trinity.” It basically means that God is a Spirit. God is supernaturally God.
The religions of japan are very different from what most Americans are used to. For example, Christianity in America focuses on one God, while the main religion of Japan, Shintoism, believes that everything has a spirit and in a way everything is “god”. Although my first instinct was to avoid anything resembles these practices, my situation forced me to realize that their religion is part of their culture, and although I do not have to participate in their rituals, it is important to respect the beliefs of others. Hostility to opposing beliefs is very dangerous but to change this, a change of perspective is
In the first chapter, the metaphysical grounds for Swinburne’s concept of a triune God have been examined and reached the conclusion that there is a higher probability of the existence of a divine individual. In the second chapter, Swinburne’s reasons for considering if there is a divine individual, then there must be three and exactly three divine individuals were presented. The third chapter demonstrated that, despite the considerable complexity of Swinburne’s concept of a triune God in comparison to other three-self theories concerning the Trinity, the former has a better explanatory power, the most reasonable interpretation and coherency. The third chapter also presented the Swinburne’s concept of a triune God avoids some of the difficulties
Japan is a isolationist society, this means that the Japanese keep to themselves and do not communicate with other countries or cultures. Only within the past century, after the fall of imperial japan, have the Japanese began to communicate with other countries and open themselves up to the rest of the world. Likewise, their culture is very diverse from that of the rest of the world and is lacking in any kind of Christian movement. Furthermore, due to this lack of communication Shinto is completely void of any type of Christ, and because of this lack of a Christ figure Shinto also has no set beliefs in reference to an attainable
God is the Supreme Being. He is the Creator and the Sustainer of everything. He created everything out of nothing. He is the Necessary Being. Someone who has always existed, will always exist, and cannot not exist.
Athanasius defended the Trinity, which is one of the biggest beliefs and a core element in Christian faith. The Trinity is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, all three united as one. During the fourth century, Arius went around teaching that Jesus the Son was different in divinity to God the Father. He points out many Scriptures proving that Jesus is saying that the Father and Son are clearly different, showing that they
He transcends the earthly plane of existence and exists beyond time. The laws of nature do not apply to Him, for He is the creator of all. He possesses all power and can act out His will as He sees fit. All of this might seem overwhelming to someone who does not know God, but He does not use His omnipotence for evil. He is good, loving, and just.
God is the creator and author of the universe. As stated in Genesis 1:1 (KJV), “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Eventually God saw it fitting to create a man and woman, the beginning of the human creation. Genesis 1:26 (KJV) “ And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness...,” After sin entered into earth, God sent his only son to die for the sins of the people on earth.
Expositional Paper #1 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). When Isaiah prophesied of the coming of Jesus Christ the People of God were in fact going through very tough times. This prophecy was to fill God’s chosen people up with assurance and hope as they were treading through a harsh period. In this verse four titles or characteristics of Christ are given to the people through the prophet Isaiah.
God is an eternal being.., He is from everlasting to everlasting. A: Our God is omnipotent. Which means He is a God having unlimited power; able to do anything. We know this.., because God's own word says, in the beginning He created the heavens and the earth.
Christianity, like Judaism, is monotheistic, yet in the Gospels, Jesus reveals that God is one and God has three co-eternal persons or natures. The Trinity is not explicitly called out in the New Testament but is certainly taught by Jesus in the Gospels. This is especially true of the Gospel of John, which brings the reader to the understanding that Jesus is not just the Messiah – he is God Incarnate. John attests to the eternal Divinity of Jesus Christ in the opening verses of his book: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Trinity, it is a word that never appear in the whole Bible, non-also appear that the Three are one. Neither appears in the New Testament (NT). But it is in the whole context of the NT that we can understand the oneness of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Deut 6.4 says that God is the only one, Jesus, all the time, showed He was God (Mk 2.1-12) and the gospel of John presents Him as the incarnated God (Jn 1.1-18)
~ From Where All Things Flow ~ Without a doubt, one of the most mysterious, complex, and intriguing characters in the bible is God. No one in the bible is quite so hard to understand, yet He is the one most yearn to understand. God’s character entails many contradictions that may leave a reader puzzling over the true and real part of God’s character. One such instance is the story of Saul and David. Both men were chosen to be kings, yet only one formed a true and lasting relationship with God.
The title of Exodus comes from the Hebrew word "Elle Sh'mot" meaning "these are the names" or the Greek word "exodos" that translates to "exit/departure" . Aptly named, as Exodus is all about the Israelites' deliverance and the beginning of the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham through the Israelites' journey to the promised land. The central theme in Exodus is salvation. Exodus starts with the calling of Moses. Upon seeing a burning bush, he is filled with curiosity and approaches it to discover it is the work of God, who has chosen him to lead the Israelites to freedom.
Globally Christianity is considered one of the largest religions throughout the world. This form of religion is growing, spreading and developing through East Asia, but Japan appears to be the exception in this expansion. Christianity is used and practiced in Japan, but this faith based movement is extremely slow and is failing to flourishing amidst the Japanese people. The slow movement of Christianity is rooted in the faiths historical relationship with Japan and its people.
