Because of the Industrial Revolution, many Europeans began to seek out other places and countries to colonize in and to find resources. In the 1760s natives from other lands were seen as individuals, thanks to Enlightenment thinking, and they were praised as individuals and seen as noble savages. Later, however in the 1910s the views of natives began to change and the natives began to be seen as uneducated primitives, a people who did not understand things as well as the “European mind.” During the Enlightenment, individualism was encouraged and so was the native culture of other people. First day of sophomore year, looking through the syllabus of AP World History, I began to seriously question why I had chosen to take such a rigorous course on a subject I didn’t even enjoy. History was always boring to me because every year before tenth grade I had been stuck with a teacher who presented facts, names, and dates in a monotone fashion that presented to me a very dull view of what history as a subject really was. It was in AP World where I had the privaledge of having a teacher who was passionate on what she taught, and a course that gave an intensely more detailed view of history. Ancient Egypt was a very illustrious civilization, including its time of the old kingdom, middle kingdom, and new kingdom. Both Ancient China and Ancient Egypt share similar characteristics but yet are still two different worlds. Their geographical features, how they would trade,social classes, and,religion are what made them unique but still shared many of these things in common.

Blessed by the surrounding rivers, these two remarkable ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt developed socially, politically and culturally with unique features.
