Before Industrialization the world functioned off of the Biological Old Regime. Places functioned off of trades and labor that had to be done by hand. This being the case agriculture was the most prevalent and important means of survival and trade for each place around the world, but with agriculture limits were at hand at each place on what and how much could grow there. China and India became increasing powerful doing this time. China developed a rich powerful economy from trading its silk and India developed the same for its trades in its spices.

The Industrial Revolution brought awful working conditions to those who worked in factories and elsewhere. Working conditions for adults and kids were drudgery. “I am at work in a spinning room tending four sides of warp which is one girl’s work” (Document 1) People were expected to do hard work each day no less. If there was a break it was limited, people were not treated fairly. Breaks were ideally rare in majority of the jobs.

The Industrial Revolution was a period where factories were enhanced and new luxuries were created, some of the luxuries are still used today! This Technological Revolution was a generation where Industrialization began, which was the development of factories and other human resources. The Industrial Revolution included many positive and negative effects for citizens, but for factory workers it was mainly negative. During The Industrial Revolution, citizens were forced to work in polluted factories with dangerous and terrible conditions.

During the late 18th through the19th century, the industrial revolution created many changes in regards to labor. Many people of the working class were affected positively in the way of new jobs, better quality products, and quality of life (Doc3, Doc4, Doc 5). While others lost family or experienced a decrease in the quality of life (Doc1, Doc2, Doc7). Some workers soon became dependent on technological machinery (Doc 6, Doc 8, Doc 9). Many workers lives during The Industrial Revolution were changed for the positive as many people such as children had a chance to enrich their lives because they were given a purpose (Doc 3).

This essay will explain why the process of industrialization is called a revolution and the effects it had on factories. Firstly, industrialization changed factories’ work. Before industrialization every product was made by manual labor. Industrialization introduced machinery to factories, which replaced manual labor. Industrialization would be considered a revolution because it brought a dramatic and wide-reaching change to how factories work.

Another important positive economic effect of the Industrial Revolution can be found in Document # 2. The document was created by Charles Knight who was a writer for working class people to talk about the positive things in England, 1831. The author point of view is that he’s arguing that society is getting better. The document explains that houses are better constructed and clothes are less expensive and also that trains are faster and cheaper. He also said it that the society is getting better.

The Industrial Revolution’s effects can be argued either way for the better or the worse. Many people have their different opinions. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative effects for the society because of the horrendous living and hazardous working conditions, it was actually a positive thing for the society. Industrialization’s positive effects included economic growth, new inventions that increased productivity, and a higher standard of living helped people live better and more efficiently.

The Industrial Revolution brought about many positive things. During this time society benefitted from making more goods, cheaper labor and overall improved the economy. However, it also had a very negative effect on society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, unequal pay, over populated and poor living conditions. These are the reasons why many people thought the Industrial Revolution was harmful.

The Industrial Revolution, lasting from the late 1700s until the early 1900s, was possibly one of the greatest time periods in this world’s history. This time period caused people to think more and dream bigger. From these big dreams rose up inventors, entrepreneurs, and business owners. The Industrial Revolution brought many new inventions and production processes, but along with great new things come great terrible horrors. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the new production methods and what they produced, it was actually a negative thing for society.

While economic and social change has occurred throughout history, certain time periods have seen great change. One such time was the Industrial Revolution in England. Among the positive change during this time were new improved technology, cheaper good, Transportation, better house, Trade, Increased of mass production. Some negative changes were children working at a young age, pollution, wages, working condition, no privacy, and security. Majority of the people benefited a lot during the Industrial Revolution because of the new technology that’s available, faster transportation, cheaper products so the poor can afford.

People earned a steady wage every month and it improved the quality and quantity of products. During the Industrial Revolution societies way of living have changed. Farmers indeed lost their jobs but when the factory system came about, it offered many other job opportunities. Factories replaced the cottage industry system, producing products in a better quality and massive quantities

Workers in industrial factories were treated harshly. They suffered physically and mentally, as they were born into a position of working young without a steady supply of food. According to Flora Tristan’s journal, workers had more needs than just food. Workers lived miserably, with a lack of “clothing, bed, furniture, fuel… they live suspended between an insufficiency of food, and an excess of strong drink” (Document 4). Without basic necessities, a fulfilling life was nearly impossible.

The industrial revolution was an impactful era for humanity’s advancement, all over the world. People becamse eager to find faster and easier ways of doing everyday tasks, and began inventing in the 1760’s. England was the first to begin the textile revolution, which was the mass production of cloth in mills and factories. The role of women in the textile industry was significant because of their agility and smaller hands. Soon after England’s revolution, Japan followed along, about a century later in the late 1800’s; through their emperor:

The industrial revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries permanently altered the nature of work, and brought about pervasive changes to contemporary life, many of which are still felt today. Beginning in England in 1750, and spanning over a century, it later spread to France and Germany in mainland Europe, and then the United States. Inventions such as the steam engine or weaving machine revolutionised entire sectors of industry, allowing productivity to boom. This boom did not benefit all members of society equally, and Karl Marx was a witness to this phenomenon (Rockmore, 2002, pp. 22-25).
