Research Paper The charity that I’m going to write all about is the Dubuque Regional Humane Society, located in Dubuque, IA. The Dubuque Regional Humane Society has a mission and it’s all about taking care of animals. The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is a very good charity because of all of the things they go through just to make sure any animal is safe and well respected. One of the many great things the Dubuque Regional Humane Society does is bring in stray animals and shelter them.
Shawn Levering, Lady 's owner, would oppose my position. He would point out that if it was up to him he would not go through with spending all of the money to save Lady. On one hand I grant that Shawn Levering makes a good case, I still maintain that pets are worth spending the money on. They depend on you and need you to help them in need.
General operating funds are an integral part in the sustainability, impact, and growth of all non-profit organizations. The Humane Society of the White Mountains is a non-profit organization; accepting the sole responsibility of self-support. General operating funds would provide our organization with the flexibility to meet pressing community needs and achieve greater impact in our community. Furthermore, it would help ease administrative burdens and costs associated with our shelter, while maintaining a strong sustainable infrastructure.
Hi Naphetta, Just like you, I am really like animals as well. Before I came to the U.S, I had 4 dogs and 2 cats, and I’m really enjoy the time with them. However, when I came to the U.S six years ago, I stop to think about to adopt a dog because I think it is really difficult to take care of a dog or a cat in the U.S (My apartment office didn’t allow me to have one). Also, I’m so afraid if the pet die because it’s so sad and hurt for a long time. Like my uncle, three years ago, his cat died after five years live with him.
The Last Meow Persuasive Essay Americans now are spending way too much money on their pets. In our society, people nowadays are going overboard on what they consider necessary for their animals. People are spending money in the thousands just for their pets to have a few more months of agony and pain. Some people even care more about their animals over their own family.
Thus, American Humane Association has learned that individual, cultural and community issues that lead to animal abandonment and try to engineer practical and effective strategies to stop animal abandonment from happening. These solutions would lower the amount of animals in animal shelters and cure the pet overpopulation problem that is sweeping the world. Countries like India have huge pet overpopulation problems. According to a national survey conducted by PetSmart Charities, more than 1 in 3 recently acquired dog and cat owners have not spayed or neutered their pet. The biggest barriers to spay and neuter appears to be a lack of motivation, understanding of the importance and cost.
Animal-assisted interventions are defined as the purposeful use of animals as an aid in treating mental and physical health disorders. As previously noted animal-assisted interventions include animal-assisted activities, animal-assisted therapy, and service animal programs (Ferriero, Brigatti, Valero, Franchignoni, & Munoz, 2011). AAT is a supportive goal orientated intervention, which results from human-animal interaction (Buettner, Fitzsimmons, & Barbara, 2011). The interaction between an animal and human result in an increase neurochemicals initiating and trigger a psychosomatic effect. The strong bonding between humans and animals affect to mental, social and physical health (Clements, Benasutti, & Carmone, 2003).
Assistance dogs today do not receive as much credit as they deserve. One may be asking what is an assistance dog? According to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), an assistance dog is, “Any guide dog, signal dog, or other animals individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability” (“Commonly Asked Questions About Service Animals in Places of Business”). Only .9 % of disabled people have a service dog, and in the U.S. 43 million people were recorded to have disabilities back in 1990 (Service Dog Central). There needs to be a bigger emphasis on the training programs available for assistance dogs, and how they can benefit our community.
If we donate to the ASPCA, then you can adopt our own pet from the animal shelters. This is why we should donate to the
Luckily ASPCA has many field rescues, medical operations, and behavioral treatment. All these methods may need to be used depending on the dogs/cats situation, but no matter how bad the situation is, ASPCA has a way to fix it and will do what is right. ASPCA has been very successful with giving animals a good home and an amazing life, but they would not have been able to do any of that if it weren't for the money and time from volunteers (ASPCA). All pets should have a great loving home and a kind hearted owner(s) who will treat them with love and care. This organization is extremely important because without ASPCA, first off there would be millions of dogs/cats that would’ve never had
More than 7.6 million animals are abused, killed, and abandoned every year in the United States alone. This is a real problem that needs attention brought to it in order to solve it. Animal cruelty is when a person purposely chooses to hurt an animal or does not take care of the animal. It is illegal to be cruel and abusive to an animal but people still decide to mistreat animals. There are many reasons why a person is cruel to an animal, those include: the person was mistreated as a child and that is the only way they know how to treat living things, they simply want to mistreat the animal, they do not know that they are hurting the animal and do not see it as a problem (“PAWS - People Helping Animals.”
Have you ever thought about what happens to the animals at a shelter that do not get the chance to be adopted? In some cases they may stay there or move shelters. In other cases, they are given to research facilities to be used as testing animals, which is wrong. Some shelters will even charge the research facilities to get the animals for testing. Animals should not be used for research due to the fact that their lives are being taken away, there are large economic effects and the animals are typically innocent.
This group does this because they strongly believe in to save animals from torture that they would not be in and they just plainly love their job. Tons of people help out with no pay, just volunteering their time for the love of helping animals in
The domestication of dogs has greatly benefited society for a variety of reasons. Firstly, dogs have been proven to be able to be trained as service dogs in order to help those with physical and mental disabilities, such as PTSD, blindness, debilitating chronic illness, etc. These service dogs have increased the quality of life for those who need them and continue to help more people every day as they are more recognized as a successful healing tool. Secondly, having dogs as pets has allowed those who are lonely or unable to have children to have an emotional relationship. Having a dog around allows one to feel as if they have a purpose in the world besides themselves, and also allows for people to generally have something to take care of.
