Starting with the basic question what is this workplace diversity .It is an environment created by individuals with wide range of characteristics and experiences which may include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, capability, and sexual orientation.
Since the adamant of globalization, diversity in workplace has increased many folds and has played a major role in the functioning of the organizations. For some it has been a boon and for some it’s a bane. Hence, it totally depends on organization whether to convert this boon to bane using this diverse workforce by using inclusive growth method and gain its advantages.

The barriers faced by the group are identified and action is taken in response to that. Unnecessary hierarchies are not allowed to develop in a diverse workplace.

How can I create an inclusive workplace?
To develop such a culture, first of all review your workplace keeping in mind its size, the type of work it does, where it is located, who it employs, who uses its services, and what its goals are we want to achieve, then create an action plan for it keeping in mind the changes and benefits you want to achieve by it.
Following measures should be considered in the action plan:
Actively involve all employees including senior and junior members and should encourage them for equal participation.
Monitoring the employees and their participation and enquire about their experiences and their problems.

Inclusive workplaces that understand the needs of their employees and make them feel valued and respected have greater success in retaining staff. Having a range of policies and facilities in place to ensure that all employees are able to balance work with other aspects of their lives has a positive impact on job satisfaction, productivity and commitment.
