Book Report On Night By Elie Wiesel

The Night is a book that catches your feelings when you open the book, and is written by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a man that survived the holocaust in Auschwitz. He was born September 30, 1928, and died July 2, 2016. In his book Night, he explains his experiences at Auschwitz. As the book continues to come toward the climax when they arrive at the camp, Elie Wiesel starts to lose his faith.

The novel “Night” written by Elie Wiesel, a survivor of the holocaust and 1986 nobel peace prize winner, tells a terrifying story about a very young Jewish boy and millions of Jews entering the Nazi death camps, having to witness terror, torture and death. As many felt disgusted of what their eyes observed, humanity and faith was quickly lost. The holocaust was a stain on humanity. Some Jews became more devout, despite what they went through, the Jews lost their faith. Elie Wiesel was one of the Jews that lost their faith.

The book Night is about a twelve-year-old boy that grew up in Transylvania which is a small town. Elie studied Talmud but he wanted to learn Kabbalah. His father found out that the Nazi got control over Hungary. The Nazi’s started to evacuate the Jews out of Transylvania, and started loading them all into the cattle cars.

The book ¨Night¨ is written by a Holocaust survivor and and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel, who went through terrible things during his time in German captivity. The events were unforgettable and life changing. He stayed with his father through all of these tough times. He escaped the terror of the Holocaust turning him into a savage even though it caused attacks from prisoners and insanity.

The death march in Night by Elie Wiesel is started when all the prisoners were forced to leave the camp that they were at and relocate to a new camp. The night was very cold and snowy, and Elie’s foot was already hurt because of some pus that was in it. His only choice was to go on with the march on a hurt foot or stay in the camp and probably die anyways. He decided to go on the march because he wanted to be with his father and he didn’t want to die helplessly. At around six at night, the entire camp lines up in formation and they all started marching block by block.

Night, by Elie Wiesel, is a very dark and heavy book. The book is called night because the night is a dark, heavy, uncontrollable thing just like Elie’s life going through all the camps he did. The life in the first ghetto was good. They were allowed to practice their own religion and had a synagogue.

In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, you’re transported into the Holocaust and read as a young man finds his life turning upside down. As everyone knows the Holocaust was an awful time and many inhumane acts were made Hitler and his following. In this book you get to see the tragedies through Eliezer Wiesel's eyes and feel his pain as you read. Eliezer and his family are Jews, so Hitler and the Nazis drove their friends and family out of their homes. His family was then moved to a concentration camp where the men and women were split, That was the last time Eliezer saw his mother and sisters.

The travel to Auschwitz was 2 days. It is estimated that fifteen of the twenty million casualties occurred in all the Nazis concentration camps. Some of the people that were fortunate enough to live were temporarily held as prisoners until liberation and or death. If people were fit to work, they were among the lucky ones, if not they were likely to be sent to the crematories or put in the gas chambers. Fortunate for Elie and his father with a bit of lying survival skills, they were sent to the side deemed fit and able to work until almost the end of their

“Night” is a powerful Memoir with 178 pages and was published by New York, NY: Hill and Wang, a division of Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Written by Elie Wiesel and published in 1956, this autobiography is about Elie’s experience with his father in the Nazi Germany concentration camps in 1944-1945 during the Holocaust. I believe the author’s purpose in writing this memoir was to write about the cruelty of the Nazi soldiers in the concentration camps and to be a voice for the Jews, specifically his family. He wanted to be the “messenger of the dead among the living”.

Hundreds lead to thousands and thousands lead to millions, more innocent people taken to camps due to being different. On religion, sex, or not being tied down to a town. Auschwitz was the worst camp of all, 1.1-1.5 million people died there. People were forced out of their homes into cramped cattle carts with up to 100 other people for days even weeks. With little water and no food unknown were there destination would be.

Hitler killed and tortured many innocent people, and gained a following known as the Nazis. World War II lasted six years in Europe, however many people didn’t anything about it for years. Today people have technology and can communicate with others in a matter of seconds. However in 1939 this technology was not available and that lead to people being in the dark to what really was happening. I think the world didn’t do anything because they were scared and thought it was unbelievable or because they didn’t know in the first place.

The Holocaust He’s hiding in someone’s attic! He’s scared out of his mind! Bombs are bursting outside! Windows are being smashed and shattered!

Elie Wiesel is the author and speaker in ‘Night.’ In the story, Elie Wiesel is remembering what has occurred in the past which means he is not only telling the story, he is reliving it. He is in the story. Elie Wiesel has survived multiple concentration camps and interestingly enough passed away only recently on July 2, 2016. Elie Wiesel is also a Romanian-born American Jew.

“I gathered all that remained of my strength in order to break rank and throw myself onto the barbed wire.” (Wiesel, 33-34) Furthermore, Elie mentions his statement in the first few days of joining the concentration camp. The ridiculous amounts of hours Elie and the other prisoners put into labor was unbelievable. Many were injured or ill due to this, and to make matters worse, all Jewish inmates must work off the supply of a portion of bread and stale soup.
