“We must all hang together, or we shall hang separately.” This was a famous quote from Benjamin Franklin while signing the Declaration of Independence. Britain and France had conflicting claims at the Ohio River Valley and started the French & Indian War. When Britain won the war, the king imposed taxes because he felt he should be repaid for the expenses of the war. This angered the colonists because they felt they should have had representation in Parliament to be taxed.
The Boston Tea Party was carefully and thoroughly planned as the Bostonian 's were not to do anything until December 17, 1773. On that day they were to dress as Indians, equipped themselves with either a small hatchet or a tomahawk, and paint their faces with coal. As they got to Griffin’s wharf they separated into three groups and Leonard Pitt was the commander of George Hewes’ Crew. At this point Pitt orders Hewes to retrieve the keys from the captain for the hatches and candles. Next, the commanders orders them to take the tea filled chests, split them open and throw them overboard.
There were many people who wanted to redo the Confederation's national debt/pay Hamilton insisted on a full payment and also a plan so that the federal government could take over the unpaid debts, that were due for the states which had happened in the Revolution. Hamilton also made sure that congressional legislation for the Bank for one of the United States was very secured. When the Bank of England acted as the nation's main institution it managed other branches in different parts of the country. Hamilton decided to sponsor a national print and argued in favor of tariffs, saying that protection of firms could be used to help keep the development of competitive national manufacturers. These measures took place of the credit for the federal government on a good foundation and gave it all the fixes and help it needed.
Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury of the United States, had a lot going for himself being a man that came from poverty to success, and he was a man “all powerful and fails at nothing which he attempts” admitted a congressman in 1791 (Tindall and Shi). Born in the Caribbean in the West Indies, abandoned by his father and orphaned at the age of 13 by his late mother who had died. Later moved to New York, became a lawyer and transitioned to nationalism thus giving him the important role of handling the weight of the debt America had accumulated $54 million deep after the Revolutionary War (Digital History). Hamilton saw the need for some financial credit to be given to America and he had the right idea by proposing a National Bank to his first president George Washington. Word dispersed of that proposal leading a
Did you think that the Boston tea party was a good act? Well you 're wrong. I believe that the colonists did not do the right thing by throwing the tea into the harbor. Because It made the british furious. And the tea company lost a lot of money.
He knew that if we were going to have all of this paper money flying around we had to have something to back it up because if we didn’t the paper money would be useless! He also had an idea that was not very popular with Colonial America and that was to be partners with the
When the Revolutionary war came about, Hamilton defended the Patriots against the Loyalists: this was his first political article written. In this moment is when he gained respect from militant leaders like George Washington. Hamilton then became a part of the New York Provincial Artillery Company and fought in the war. Later, Washington appointed Hamilton as the first Secretary of Treasury. As Hamilton understands of law and politics grew, he decided to pursue a goal of his: establishing a more diverse government under the new Constitution.
The historical event, I will be writing about is Boston Tea Party I am a 15-year-old girl and I live in Boston, Massachusetts the year is 1773. I live in a small house near the boats. My parents have their own room to sleep in I'm not allowed to go in there EVER My room isn't that big, but I have a bed, a dresser, and some books. I love to read!
The Boston Tea Party was a main event of the Revolutionary war. With this act, the colonists started a violent part in the revolution. It was the first time a colonist rebelled violently against their own government. The Townshend Duty act passed taxes on lead, paint, paper and tea which lead to mass meetings being held where people would try to convince others to not buy English imported goods anymore.
During the first years of the English settlements of North America the people who immigrated from England they formed colonies that with the support of the British government. The colonist didn 't pay a lot of taxes on their trading benefits to the government. Through the years, the King and the parliament started raising taxes on almost everything that the colonist was producing in the colonies. The colonists weren 't happy with the new taxation that the king was charging to the colonies, and it led the colonist to protest at British empire. There are several reasons why the colonists revolted against the British government.
Hamilton nearly killed himself fulfilling these requests, but he did so brilliantly and completely, in turn exhausting congress going through them meticulously. He dazzled them with his brilliance and many were simply intellectually incapable of comprehending his plans. Not content to establish the customs service and the coast guard, and create a stable monetary system for the new government, Hamilton also dabbled in the affairs of state, much to the chagrin of Thomas Jefferson. He was once again an indefatigable assistant to Washington. Hamilton left the cabinet after Washington’s first term, returning to his New York law practice to repair his family finances, but Washington continued to rely upon him, as did many other cabinet members.
The Boston Tea Party Have you ever wondered what it would be like if an iconic moment in history had never happened? Although The Boston Tea Party cost Great Britain a great deal of important resources it was a necessary event for the Colonists to get their freedom. The British Parliament passed the Intolerable Acts to punish the Colonies for dumping British goods in the harbor. The Boston Tea Party also paved the way for the Revolutionary War. Therefore the American way of life would be extremely different today had the Boston Tea Party never happened.
In 1777, Hamilton had become George Washington’s assistant. In the year of 1788 he convinced New Yorkers to ratify the U.S Constitution. He then became the secretary if the treasury. He was a founding father, served in the military, studied law, was involved in politics and government. He is also on U.S currency (10-dollar bill) who was never a president.
The boston tea party occurred when colonist as a way of rebelion attack british by throwing the tea that they found in their ships. And some people wonder why they did that and historic events show that there were French Indian War before that make the colonists to have an economic crisis so they can pay for the products. And the unique product that haven’t tax was the tea.
The Boston Tea Party was a symbolic event of the Revolution, but one can speculate with a good degree of certainty that it would not have occurred if not for the series of historic events in Boston and other colonies that preceded it. The Boston tea party was a result of The Stamp Act, The Currency Act, and The Tea Act. Since Great Passed these three laws it angered many of the colonist and resulted in The Boston Tea Party. The Currency Act was the first of many new laws that Great Britain had created that the many of the colonist angry. The Currency Act was a law the prohibited American colonist from using there own American money to buy goods from England.
