In the story of Night, Elie Wiesel starts with a boy named Moshe the Beadle, he is the spiritual advisor of Elie Wiesel. The Jewish faith that Elie Wiesel had before the Holocaust started. Following the story, Moshe disappears after a few pages in the book. The ideas he teaches Wiesel remain throughout the story and his life. While the story goes on it mentions how Moshe is captured by the red army and Moshe witnesses what is really happening to Jews.

Everyone has courage, just not everyone has an opportunity to show it. The dictionary definition of courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty,danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery. Many people throughout history people have shown great acts of bravery, standing up for what they believe is right. Martin Luther King jr., Paul River and Gandhi are the typical examples of courageous people.

Anyone can be overcome by selfishness in order to survive the hardest of times. In Elie Wiesel’s “Night”, the main character Elie faces many hard times that puts both survival and loyalties into perspective. In horrific conditions, the necessity to survive can overpower the strongest of human loyalties. First off, people tend to prioritize their own safety over the safety of others. Secondly, prisoners abandon their communities for a position of authority in order to survive.

He was a young boy when he was taken from his home in Sighet, Transylvania and brought to concentration camps. He was separated from his mother and two sisters and was left with his father. Determined for him and his father to live, Elie faced many people who didn 't want him to keep going and others who encouraged him to keep going.

The heart wrenching and powerful memoir “Night” by Elie Wiesel depicts Elie’s struggle through the holocaust. It shows the challenges and struggles Elie and people like him faced during this mournful time, the dehumanization; being forced out of their homes, their towns and sent to nazi concentration camps, being stripped of their belongings and valuables, being forced to endure and witness the horrific events during one of history’s most ghastly tales. In “Night” Elie does not only endure a physical journey but also a spiritual journey as well, this makes him question his determination, faith and strength. In a situation where your body is surviving on a thread, your stomach is inflated due to starvation and all the strength you had before is gone, you have to rely on mental and religious strength to carry you through your hardships. In Elie Wiesel’s “Night”, Elie talks about his personal experiences and hardships he faced during WWII and his life at Auschwitz as a young boy. Throughout the story Elie pushes through losing his mother and sister, lashings, seeing babies burned alive and the fear of death but also the hope for it in some situations. No amount of physical strength can help someone survive in the brutal place Auschwitz. Everywhere in the story Elie and other characters show that with mental and religious/spiritual strength, you can push through any hardship you have to face.

What is courage? Courage is having fears or worries, yet still doing what needs or should be done. One example of courage would be a person that is fighting cancer. This person is probably scared that they might die, yet they still fight to regain their health and to become better.

In the memoir, Night, written by Elie Wiesel, the author discusses the struggle to survive during the Holocaust. A major theme illustrated throughout the memoir is survival. The two types of survival that are predominate are survival of the fittest and family commitment. The theme of survival through self-preservation is seen in the memoir Night the situations of Madame Schachter being beaten in the cattle car on the way to Auschwitz, the Rabbi’s son leaving him behind on the death march, and the son killing his father over a crust of bread.

Courage. Courage is when you are willing to go above and beyond, past your own boundaries, to fight the monster we call fear. Mildred D. Taylor has written us this amazing novel called, Role of thunder hear my cry. This book is told through the mouth of a young colored girl who has many courageous moments, and stands up for her convictions. This courageous young girl’s name is Cassie Logan.

Courage is the ability to face a fear, pain, or a difficult obstacle in life. Many individuals have great qualities, but not many have courage. Having courage can give you the ability to stand up for yourself and others. Another great ability that courage gives you is the ability to express yourself and what you think is wrong or right. Being courageous also makes you fearless which means you’ll accomplish any goals you have set for yourself.

In the memoir Night the narrator Elie Wiesel recounts a moment when camps had to be evacuated and prisoners were forced to run in the woods in the snow and many people were killed for being tired. ”From time to time, a shot exploded in the darkness. They had orders to shoot anyone who could not sustain the pace. ”(Wiesel 85). To run through the woods in the cold with so little food is hard and cruel to make someone go through.

To find a man who has not experienced suffering is impossible; to have man without hardship is equally unfeasible. Such trials are a part of life and assert that one is alive by shaping one’s character. In the autobiographical memoir Night by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, this molding is depicted through Elie’s transformation concerning his identity, faith, and perspective. As a young boy, Elie and his fellow neighbors of Sighet, Romania were sent to Auschwitz, a macabre concentration camp with the sole motive of torturing and killing Jews like himself. There, Elie experiences unimaginable suffering, and upon liberation a year later, leaves as a transformed person.

After going through so much, many people do not have the same mindset as they did before. Being tortured and watching others being tortured changes a person’s life, especially Elie’s, his father’s, Moshe the Beadle’s, and Rabbi Eliahou’s. Elie Wiesel, the author of Night, shares his own experience of going through a concentration camp, and it is clear that many things in his life changed

Later they got split up, but that did not them from giving up hope. through many rough events and scenarios, Elie had to work hard to stay alive and try to get out. In “Night”, the theme of the memoir is don’t give up hope, because there is always something positive in the end.
