By the title you would guess that the book is about the murder suspect confessing what they know about the murder and that they were actually the one who murdered. I believe that the title is very appropriate because all throughout the book Tandy confessed to feelings that she didn’t know were possible and confessed things that happened in her life. Another title that could work for this book is The Angels Secrets. This would fit quite well because in a murder investigation the suspect will be keeping secrets. The Angels part of the title could both be representing the secrets held by the Angel children and the secrets that the angels are keeping because they’d be able to “see” the murder but can’t say anything about

The story Killer Angels provides an in-depth perspective of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War. The author, Michael Shaara, accomplishes a special feat due to the fact that throughout the novel he rarely breaks away from the factual aspects of America's bloodiest war. The Civil War had seemingly various causes despite numerous soldiers and outsiders believing it was entirely about slavery. The Union and Confederates weren't just fighting over the rights and ideas of slavery, they were fighting for much more. It was a power struggle.

Winnifred adores Zach as children but never realizes that she is completely charmed by him and unintentionally becomes his slave. An example of that is when the narrator says, “Zach [sits] down and [eats] half [of] the cake… the three [sisters] wash up old baking dishes… and his plate and fork and glass” (4). Winnifred and her sisters willingly wash the dishes, not noticing how selfish Zach is being by not helping them out and eating the cake that was meant for the Church Bazaar. Only in a matter of
Almost everyone is aware of some story behind historic colonizers in his or her country. Whether it’s the United States’ story of Columbus, or the Mexico’s story of Cortes, people are familiar with what it means to be a colonizer. However, in the short story, “Maryanne’s Clouds Today”, by Ivan Rehorek, the author takes a spin on the post colonial mindset that is known as othering. This is when the colonizer sets himself apart from the colonized people by cultural values, difference in appearance or personality as a whole. Columbus used this sense of othering by pointing out the differences between himself and the natives he encountered.
