Menards is a home improvement warehouse that is like Home Depot, or Lowes. This chain is primarily located in the Midwest with the headquarters in Wisconsin. They incorporate a typical storefront design like the others with some warehouse space that is unavailable to customers. Their uniqueness, however, is that they have a large outside storage area including a separate building or two that houses building materials including many types of lumber, drywall, shingles, and other large products. There is adequate lighting, and the space between rows and aisles are very suitable. The floor is concrete that is still in very good condition without a feeling of being slippery. I did notice in a few places that concrete was eroding away that could be a hazard. Luckily, this should be an inexpensive fix. Home improvement warehouses should have an advantage over other types of retailers with the wide array of knowledge and expertise that many of the associates have in the construction industry. The major risk observed in this facility was slip, trip, and falls. It was observed that many boxes and open products were on the floor in aisle ways, and other locations that customers walk around. The disturbing aspect is that the company didn’t seem to emphasize this risk to the employees. In many instances, associates were walking right next to and near these locations without noticing a problem. Each department should have a designated area for receiving product from the warehouse, and use carts or pallet jacks to move inventory around with to stock shelves. Also, the bulk of stocking shelves should be done when there are no customers present. Even forklift operators are replenishing bays during store hours while customers shop. One tragic situation that showed the need for safety laws within companies and organizations was the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire. On May 25, 1911 the Triangle Shirtwaist Company Factory burned in a fire. The Factory was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. It was located in Manhattan, New York on the top three floors of the Asch Building on Greene Street and Washington Place.
After making several calculations on both Kohl’s and JCPenny’s finical statements it is clear that Kohl’s is in a better financial position. Starting with over an 8-point gap between Kohl’s 3.50 net profit margin, to JCPenny’s -4.06 net profit margin. This proves that Kohl’s is more profitable making 3.50 dollars of income for every item sold, on average. Kohl’s is the better company to invest in but JCPenney is slowly pulling themselves out of a financial crisis. In 1911, one of the most infamous incidents in American industrial history occurred when the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City burned, killing 145 workers. It is one of the most remembered incidents since the deaths were largely preventable. Most victims died as a result of neglected safety features and locked doors within the factory building. While the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire did result in a new legislation for safety in the work place, it was not the most important result. The most important result was the institution of the process to enforce pre-existing legislation regarding worker safety and protection in the workplace along with the laws that followed.

By the senseless actions of a worker throwing his cigarette into a bin filled with scraps of inflammable clothing, the whole building suffered.
This is regarding passing the Voltage token to anyone outside of the Walgreens. Profitect was receiving hash RSA credit card information from Walgreens Asset Protection team. Moving forward the Asset Protection will only have the Voltage token to pass. There was a call late week and Ed Yousif thought it was OK to pass the token, however, he wanted to confirm it with Crowe. Below is the response from Crowe stating token can be send out side of the Walgreens.
