Casey Anthony: The Murder Of Casey Anthony

The Casey Anthony case is the trial of Casey Anthony for the death and murder of Caylee Anthony. The two parties in this case are Casey Anthony against the state of Florida. The trial is a criminal case because it is involving a murder of a child. The trial was originally heard in state court. Although Casey Anthony plead not guilty on the first degree murder charge, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child, she was convicted of the misdemeanor which was giving false information to the police and authorities and was given 4 consecutive years of jail time (one year per count) and was fined 1,000$ for each of her four counts (4,000$ in total).

The story of Casey Anthony was more than odd. According to USA Today, Caylee Anthony went missing on July 15, 2008.In December of 2008, Caylee’s body was discovered in the woods near the Anthony household ( Boweman). Grandmother, Cynthia Anthony, had dialed 911 the day Caylee went missing to notify police that Casey Anthony had kidnapped the two-year-old; along with stealing a car and money. Though, it had been an odd phone call because once the car had been returned Cynthia had re-called the police saying “My daughter’s car trunk smells like there has been a dead body in it”. This is strange considering the articles of evidence found in the trunk.

When the trial started the prosecution used the approach of Casey being a promiscuous party girl that didn't want to be a mother anymore. That pushed the fact that she was unconcerned about the fact that her daughter was missing and that she planned to murder Caylee. The defense on the other had used elaborate stories that defamed Caseys father by saying Caylee drowned in the family pool and George Anthony help cover up the accident. They also stated the George had molested Casey since she was eight, and her brother would do sexual advances towards her as well, convincing the jury that Caylee may have been a product of

Casey Anthony was acquitted of her daughter’s death in July 2011 and maintains her innocence to this day. However, she did serve time for providing false information to a law enforcement officer during her daughter’s investigation. According to Mary Bowerman’s March 2017 article, “Casey Anthony Probably Killed Her Daughter, But by Accident, Judge Says,” retired Judge Perry, who presided over the case, believes Casey may have accidentally killed her daughter.

Caylee Anthony, a young two-year-old girl, of Orlando, Florida was last reported seen on June 16, 2008. Her grandmother, Cindy Anthony, reported her missing on July 15, 2008. This was almost a month after she was last seen. Caylee Anthony lived with her grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, along with her mother, Casey Anthony. Cindy became suspicious of the whereabouts of her granddaughter after not seeing her for almost a month and her mother’s car having a strong odor of dead body.

On July 5th, 2011 Casey Anthony was found not guilty for murdering her two year old daughter Caylee Anthony in Orlando Florida. Caylee was found in a trash bag, with duct tape wrapped around her head to cut off air supply. There are many key pieces of evidence in the case that points toward Casey being guilty of the crime. I truly believe Casey killed Caylee, here are a few reasons why.

Cindy Anthony, Casey Anthony's mother, was called to testify. She testified in her daughter's defense and took responsibility for some of the chloroform searches. The computer searches were key to the prosecution's claims of premeditated murder, an essential element for first degree murder and the possibility of the death penalty. “Baez said in closing arguments, I told you she was a liar the first day.(abc news.2017)” Casey killed that Caylee by drugging her, but she got away with

Casey Anthony “Smell of Death” In the summer of 2008, Casey Anthony daughter Caylee Anthony was last seen on June 16, 2008. No one knows where she was nor did Casey report that her daughter was missing. Time went by with no sign of Caylee reappearing. Casey’s mother called and reported that her granddaughter was missing and that Casey’s car smelled like a dead body had been in there.

Casey Anthony was found not guilty for murdering her daughter Caylee Anthony. Caylee Anthony was only two years old when she unfortunately passed away. Caylee was reported missing on July 15, 2008 but on December 11, 2008 her remains were found in a trash bag. On July 7, 2011 Casey Anthony was found not guilty in 3 counts including first degree murder but was found guilty of 4 counts because she provided false information to law enforcement. We all remember the O.J Simpson murder case as the most publicized criminal trial in American History.

However, Prosecutors stated that Anthony had suffocated Caylee with duct tape because she wanted to be free to hit the nightclubs and spend time with her boyfriend (“Casey Anthony: Why did the jury say not guilty”). Although, in return, the defense that was led by Jose Baez stated that Caylee had drowned by accidently in the family’s swimming pool on June 16, 2008, and stated that the grandfather, George Anthony disposed of Caylee’s body (“Death of Caylee Anthony”). The defense then stated to the jury that Casey lied about the murder because Casey lived in a home of sexual abuse by her father. However, the defense did not show any evidence to the jury as to how Caylee died, nor evidence that Casey was sexually abused as a

She then said that her daughter had been kidnapped by the nanny and she was trying to find her before she alerted the authorities. Now I don’t believe any mother would be that reluctant to tell their own mother, let alone the police, that their own daughter had not been seen for weeks. This is one of the main reasons that I believe she did kill her daughter or was in some way involved in the death of Caylee Anthony. The skeleton of the child was then found near the family’s house 5 months after she was reported missing. What are the odds of the body being that close to the house and no one having any clue for months on end?

On June 9, 2008, Travis Alexander’s body was discovered in a shower in his home in Mesa, Arizona. Alexander was found to have died from 27-29 stab wounds, along with his throat being slit and a gunshot wound to the head. Alexander’s ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias, was the prime suspect after investigators discovered they had several arguments leading up to his death and certain pieces of evidence placed her at the scene of the crime. On July 15, 2008, the first stage of the case began when Jodi Arias was indicted by a grand jury and arrested for the first-degree murder of Travis Alexander.

In this case the only obstacle the prosecutors had was prove that Caylee Anthony was murdered by her own mother, they had to prove beyond reasonable doubt to the jury that she was behind her daughter’s death. Most of the evidence that was presented was in fact pointed to Casey Anthony as the person who was fully liable for her daughter
