From long time ago, humans have already desired to understand the origin of the universe and explore its operation. There are many brilliant philosophers or scientists help us to understand the universe, for example, Plato, Aristotle and Isaac Newton contribute a lot in the physical world. In my major course which is life sciences, Charles Darwin, who paid much effort on the biological world, is an important scientist. He suggested the evolution of species was conducted by natural selection, which seemed that it disproved Plato’s theory. Actually, there is no conflict between Plato’s theory and Darwin’s and Newton’s theory.

The five most common reasons consist of the following: contraceptive failure, inability to support a child, ending unwanted pregnancies, to prevent a child being born with severe defects or medical problems, and if rape or incest occurred. “Over half of all women who have an abortion used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant” (ProCon). Unfortunately, birth control is not 100% effective, therefore some women will become pregnant while they are using their contraceptives. “A woman has the right to use birth control and have an abortion because the pregnancy affects her body and her body only” (Sanger 9). If a woman does not wish to carry a baby inside of her for nine months out of the year, she should not have to.

Charles Darwin was an English naturalist whose idea of evolution by natural selection became the foundation for modern evolutionary studies. Prior to his work, evolutionary thought was not the dominating theory in the public’s mind. Most theories were closely related to religion. Although he was raised in an orthodox Christian home where theology was the man belief, he claims that he was “born a naturalist”; he loved nature, collecting fish, hunting, and reading books about nature, like Gilbert White’s Natural History of Selborne. Darwin came from a family of physicians who pushed he to peruse the same stable career path.

Intro Charles Darwin presented a theory over a century before the time of the present but yet his views are still debated among many. Darwin introduced the theory of evolution, and how the human species evolved from more ape like Homo sapiens. Darwin’s theories otherwise know as Darwinism was created in the late 1800s providing answers of where the human species actually came from and not from the tradition avenue. Darwin introduced the theory of natural selection that stated how all species arose from one creation and through competition survival and reproduction the species changed. Through natural selection the species evolved to become their current being in todays world.

He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors,which he described in one of his books, “On the Origin of Species” (1859). Evolution by natural selection is a process first demonstrated by the observation that often, more offspring are produced than can possibly survive. Darwin’s ideas created a lot of discussion regarding the impact on various scientific, religious and philosophical viewpoints. Charles Darwin went on a 5 year trip to the Galapagos Islands, he discovered several species of finches that varied from island to island, which helped him develop his theory of natural selection. Darwin now had the framework of his theory of natural selection "by which to work",as his "prime hobby".

Throughout all eternity, life has existed. Life has taken many shapes and many forms. What started out as a single organism, becomes a fully grown human being. How did this come to be? What took place in those billions of years?

Charles Darwin though born in a line of successful physicians and doctors broke the line and studied nature causing him to create one of the most known theories being “Evolution”. After graduating from Cambridge college, Darwin set off to study nature and create his theories not only “Evolution” but also “Natural Selection”. It took a century before his theories were even considered to be theories though as they conflicted with the popular religion belief of creationism. Though Darwin made this theory he did not know the full process of it, but thanks to future scientists we were able to learn more about this theory.

Each development in scientific comprehension encounters some resistance. Charles Darwin was extremely apprehensive to announce his findings, because he knew he would get censured by the world. Particularly the religious world. His theory of Evolution has managed to provoke those involved in the church and those who are not. The reality is Darwin did not intend to provoke anyone or their faith.

Charles Darwin was expected to go to Edinburgh University in order to become a medical doctor but couldn't take in the brutality of surgery, soon, losing interest after two years of study. Clearly, he was interested in biology and geology. By 1831, he had the opportunity to abroad the survey ship H.M.S Beagle, spending 18 months at sea. After a 5 week long visit in the Galapago Islands, Darwin had made the observation to comprehend what causes plants and animals to evolve. His observation was that species were found in the Galapago Islands in no other part in the world but similar ones on the west coast of South America.

Most people have heard about the theory of evolution by Charles Darwin, however not everyone is aware of his background, accomplishments, and contributions towards science. What people may know about Charles Darwin is his theory is very controversial when considering religion. Most people when faced with that much backlash after a release would stop and think if they were even right in the first place. Even though Charles Darwin faced much criticism after his Origin of species was released, he still continued research for his theory. Charles Darwin’s childhood was meet with many hardships.

Darwin noticed that large groups of organisms had similar characteristics, from that he believed that organisms with similar body structures all derived from a common ancestor. He believes that the reason they are now different is because the

He had a job working as a land surveyor, where is when he took an interest in the natural sciences. He read the writings of famous naturalists like Carl Linnaeus and Alexander von Humboldt and endeavored to travel to research himself.

Darwin noticed organisms in temperate regions resembled organism in close tropical regions rather than resembling organisms in temperate regions in another continent. This is when Darwin realized that organisms made adaptations, an inherited characteristic of an organism that enhances survival and reproductive abilities. This clearly means that different species can survive in harsher environments than other species. Darwin looked at finches that had different beaks depending on what they ate. A cactus eater finch had a longer and sharper beak so it was easier to rip the flesh out of the cacti while an insect eater finch had a shorter, narrower beak so it was able to catch small insects.
