The Manson family originated in California, USA in the 1960s. They were a quasi-commune led by none other than Charles Manson, and gained national recognition after they murdered actress Sharon Tate.

Kathleen and her brother were arrested in 1939 and sentenced to five years in prison for robbing a store in Charleston, West Virginia. During this time, Charles was under the care of his aunt and uncle. In October 1951, Manson was transferred to a minimum-security institute where he was deemed dangerous before being transferred to a higher security institution. After his transfer he showed magnificent improvement, becoming the model inmate and furthering his education. This good behavior earned him parole in 1954.
After his release, he married a waitress named Rosalie. Manson claimed that he found temporary but genuine marital happiness with Rosalie. Manson later stole a car in which him and Rosalie drove to Los Angeles, only to be caught and given five years of probation. When he failed to appear in court for another car theft charge in Florida, Manson was arrested in Indianapolis and sentenced to three years at Terminal Island in California.

Thus, this proves how Charles was the inside informant on the kidnapping team and conspired with Bruno for the kidnapping of Charles Jr. Because Charles had a eugenics mentality and because we know that Charles Jr. had a physical sort of abnormality, Charles simply could have made up this kidnapping to send Charles Jr. to an institution which as discussed, was a very common thing to do at the time
Charles is being held at Turner Gillford Correctional Facility. He refused to talk to reporters. Charles 's stepfather, Willis Archibald, has stated that his stepson is innocent. He also stated that they are trying to pin a murder on a teenager who has a lot of issues. This is not the first time Charles has been arrested.
In shocking news today, Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten could be getting out of prison after all this time. Us Magazine shared that Leslie has now tentatively approved for parole effective today. She has actually been turned down 19 times in the past. Most people know her as the one who wrote the messages on the wall at the murder scene of married couple Leno and Rosemary LaBianca back in 1969. At this time, Leslie Van Houten has been recommended for parole.
On November twelfth, 1934, Kathleen Maddox brought Manson into the world in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kathleen was only a sixteen-year-old runaway at the time she met Manson’s father, a married man known as “Colonel Scott”. She eventually met and married William Manson, who gave Charles his surname. However, the marriage was short lived and William divorced Kathleen in 1939 for a variety of reasons that range from infidelity to abandonment. Two years later, she and her brother were arrested for armed robbery and Manson was sent to live with various relatives in West Virginia.
Before the first day of testimony even began, Mr. Manson wanted to ask jurors “a few simple, childlike questions that are real to me in my reality”. He was denied. Then, during the voir dire, Manson stared at Judge Older before moving on to Prosecutor Bugliosi. Bugliosi raised the question during a recess, “What are you trembling about, Charlie? Are you afraid of me?”
3 years later, in 1942, she regained custody of charles. Since Kathleen didn't have much money, they went from motel to motel taking care of themselves. He later rejoined Bonnie, and they continued their life of crime. They were believed to have committed 13 murders and several robberies, and burglaries by the time of their death.
Even if he was well-respected in the art world, Charles has had a life-long drinking problem and depression that put him out of work and placed him in mental hospitals. Though in his earlier stages, Charles didn’t physically abandon them, but mentally he did. This caused their mother to be, mentally and later physically, a single parent. Though Arthur was affected by his father’s condition, he was also proud of him (“Conan Doyle Info”). At the age of 9, he was sent off to a jesuit preparatory school in England at Hodder Place, Stonyhurst from 1868 to 1870.
