On March 5th 1770, British Soldiers shot and killed five colonists and injured 10 of them. The tragic event was nicknamed “The Bloody Massacre”, but the colonists were at fault because they were the ones that provoked the soldiers, they attacked the soldiers, and they created a chaotic scene. First reason why the colonists were at fault is because they are the ones that provoked the soldiers. (Paragraph 2 of page 155 from the book United States History Colonization through Reconstruction written by Michael B. Stoff and James West Davidson) “A crowd gathered…colonists shouted insults.” The colonists were the ones who created the hostility between them and the soldiers by provoking them which shows that the colonists were at fault for the massacre.

Colonists did not agree that the British government should raise revenue when it comes to taxing the colonies. The most notable for all that happening was the Stamp Act, the Townshend Tariffs and the Tea Act. The colonists also did not agree with the fact that they were not having the same rights as other British subjects. Because of that, violence occurred on the day of March 5, 1770, which was known as the Boston Massacre. The British soldiers ended up killing five men who were Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, Patrick Carr, and Crispus Attucks.
So overall I believe that the Soldiers were innocent and did not want to kill colonists, that makes the Boston Massacre not a massacre at all just a act of self
The People’s Temple was a religious movement founded by Reverend Jim Jones in the mid 1950’s. Reverend Jones initially came from a humble begining living with his poor family in Indiana. As Jones grew older he began attending meetings and rallies for the U.S. communist party. Due to ongoing fear of the spread of communism in the U.S. Jones was often harassed and ridiculed by both the government and the public for his political leanings. It wasn 't until the early 1950’s when Jones became increasingly involved in the sommerset southside methodist church in Indianapolis, Indiana when his real intentions began to take shape.
The British soldier that was in charge at the time was named Captain Thomas Preston and he and his 8 men were all arrested for the shooting. According to the article, Preston has tried to avoid unnessesary conflict between the colonist and his troops. He wanted everyone to leave in peace. However, one of Preston’s soldier did not obey his command and started to fire at the mobs. As the result, Preston is responsible for death in the Boston Massacre. The British fought to defend themselves. They had no intentions of getting back at the colonists for their misdeeds. The colonists should also be held accountable for the first shot, because the British didn 't plan ahead to specifically target the colonists. Though, the Colonists purposely targeted the British. I believe
On March 5, 1770, a heated argument broke out between many strong-willed colonists and British soldiers, about the different taxes the British were making the colonist fulfill and how unjust the British parliament was. The argument quickly escalated into a fight and then a so-called massacre, soon to be named The Boston Massacre. Although, there was the killing of colonists, should this event be called a ‘massacre’? In fact, only 5 colonists were killed in the shooting, and many claim that the colonists were not innocent therefore the Boston Massacre was not a massacre.

This evidence supports the idea that the colonists were responsible for the Boston Massacre since the British had not fired without hearing somebody shout the command to fire and that they were solely protecting the crown officials of
However, the colonists needed to rally more people on their side. They knew that the killing of five men was tragic, yes, but it is not a technical massacre. If truth got around that their was fighting on both sides, it would seem as just a
