Specific Purpose: To commemorate Mickey Myers
Thesis Statement: As the principle of Bogue Chitto High School, Mickey Myers was admired by many people in our community; the adversities he was able to overcome are an inspiration to all.
I. Introduction
A. Attention material: Imagine having your life planed out. You are married to the woman of your dreams with three children. Then your wife suddenly gets sick and dies of cancer. Not only did my high school principle go through this very scenario, but he also did it with a smile on his face while changing many lives in the Lincoln County community.
B. Credibility Material: Growing up witnessing his every daily life, I am able to tell about this very man.
C. Relevancy Material: The commemoration of his life and the tragic struggles he went through in his personal life is enough to inspire us to never give up and to always stay positive throughout our lifetime.
D. As the principle of Bogue Chitto High School, Mickey Myers was admired by many people in our community; the adversities he was able to overcome are an inspiration to all.

It was always the little things that made Mickey stand out. He might not have become rich or famous throughout his lifetime, but he was always making people smile everywhere he went. When building our new gym at Bogue Chitto the school board requested to name it in honor of Mickey, however; being the humble person that he is he declined. Coach Myers was just recently elected as the superintendent for Lincoln County. He received about fifty three percent of the votes, beating West Lincolns Principle Jason Case. Today I will be talking about the holiday we call Halloween. Halloween is where we all dress up in costumes and get candy from houses on the thirty first of October. Here are three things about halloween. First, I am going to be talking the history of halloween.
Major Mike Pfannenstiel, who fights for justice at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, by preventing and controlling crime in the community. He has dark hair, a lot of muscles, and is very thin. He has been working for the Sheriff’s Department for 31 years. During this time, he was a school resource officer, detective, patrol officer, and an undercover officer. Currently, he is in charge of the operations division, which includes the drug unit, investigations, patrol, and warrants.
Throughout the last two years, working with both Andrew Michie and Theodore Beddoe, provided opportunities to see how two grown men from drastically different walks of life share many similar qualities. Andrew, a welder from Pittsburgh, came to South Florida when he was twenty-nine, starting a new journey and Teddy, a Florida native and five-star chef, at fifty-two gave up everything he had for one last opportunity at starting a new life. While from different walks of life, Andrew and Teddy share more values than either can see; through open-mindedness, courage, and humbleness they are equally gifted with the ability to help others.
Chavis Daniels, a boy on Manassas High’s football team, was a jailbird fatherless, and an overall rough man. Despite all of his cons, he was named Manassas’ “Uncommon” Man of the year. This year I believe that I have found the perfect young man for this title. He goes by the name of Matthew Hudson, my proud stepbrother. In the next few paragraphs I will tell you why Matthew is the one for the job.
Heinritz. Winning the state title is what every high school athlete dreams of doing and the Appleton East boys baseball team made that happen, truly being apart of something amazing. Disney opened their first park named Disneyland in Anaheim California in 1955, in their quest to create the happiest place on earth. It was shortly followed by Disney world, which was constructed in Orlando Florida in 1971. The Magic Kingdom took 6 years to build, but Disneyworld will never be quite finished. On July 17 1955 when Disneyland had completed construction in just 12 short months.
Each one has learned many lessons from their courses in life which established their personal morality. There’s tons of fun stuff to do on Halloween, but there’s tons of history behind it as well. For starters, did you know that in Ohio, Massachusetts, and Iowa Trick-or-treating is referred to as Beggars Night?

“Burn” by Suzanne Phillips gives readers the inside look into the horrors of bullying. The author not only the talks about the victim, but also the sad truth about many victims and how they suffer while bystanders of the act remain quiet and choose not to notice and admit that bullying exists. “Burn” is a moving story that talks about the journey of Cameron Grady and his inner fire. Cameron Grady a 14 year old freshman would've never imagined high school to be such torture. One big thing he had a personal interest in was running, but other than that he's never been much of an athlete.
Once at the deaf school Matt thrived and quickly became the star of the wrestling team. He learned sign language and met a lot of deaf and hard of hearing friends. Bonnie on the other hand went to a hearing college and forced herself to succeed. She had a lot of troubles in class to start but she found a few ways to cope. One of the ways is that she had upperclassmen take notes for her and she studied constantly.
In the speech “Steve Jobs Commencement Address to Stanford University, Class of 2005” , Apple CEO Steve Jobs provides his audience with personal experiences and the rough periods he went through in his early years before founding apple that helped him succeed. With the use of his stories Jobs creates a character that prevails through obstacles and manages to achieve his goals, which inspires his audience to look up to him and show that failure is sometimes necessary to succeed. At the beginning of his speech, Steve Jobs begins describing his life with a series of stories that helped him reach his success, this helps Jobs create ethos because his audience will understand the hardships he went through to be where he is today, instead of just thinking of Jobs as the founder of Apple and not really knowing about the struggles he had to go through.
