Profit and nonprofit, are the most common types of denominations that an organization may have. Both profit and nonprofit organizations it may appeared to be similar but they contrast in the source of income and distribution, the ownership, and the main purpose. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, the nonprofit term was first used in 1896 and defines a nonprofit organization as the organization not conducted or maintained for the purpose of making a profit (Merriam-webster). The seventy percent of the Americans give to nonprofit organizations every year (Statisticbrain.com). If any one of the three are violated, then the purpose of the organization is ruined. It is my belief that any private organization should be allowed to remain private. Especially when it comes to organizations that promote certain religious or behavior beliefs. As an American, we all have the freedom of choice. That freedom should not be forced on an organization that choses to believe that the choice we may be making is viewed as

As McMurtry has highlighted, it is about the people helping and giving back rather than pushing for their own individual gain. The purpose of the Salvation Army is to enlighten the community which they are attending to and persevere through the tough situations and reach a goal of creating a prosperous community, either in providing food or in any other way they can. In other words, it is there to help achieve a secure standpoint. The Salvation Army has had a major role in helping communities and many people, especially children. Due to its involvement, it has now become known all over the world due to its aiding efforts.
A. Introduction Human service organizations fill an essential role within numerous societies and communities. Human services include a wide range of disciplines and skills that focus on improving the lives of individuals and communities through accessibility, accountability, and coordination (National Organization for Human Services, 2015). By addressing individual and collective qualities of service and assistance, organizations fulfill the goals of human service, which are to enhance the well being of people and the public. Without these organizations, the field of human services would be ineffective and counterproductive. According to Human Services Education (2015), three main organizations define human services field: nonprofit or NGO,
For example, currently, there is a global organization named National Network of Career Nursing Assistants that is a non-profit group that provides support, research, and education for career nurse assistants. This clearly exemplifies the progress nursing aides have made in hospitals and nursing homes around the
The Council of Accreditation is mentioned in this chapter because it standards are rooted in the values of the social work profession (Furman & Gibelman, 2013). Accreditation has several purposes; however, it forces an organization to continue to review their program (Furman & Gibelman, 2013). Once an organization is accredited, it must continue to prove to the community that is meets standards of operations (Furman & Gibelman, 2013). The chapter goes on to discuss Standards for Charitable Solicitations, which is the group responsible for setting standards for charitable nonprofit organizations (Furman & Gibelman, 2013). The IRS is also important to nonprofit organizations, as they authorize tax-exemptions for organizations (Furman & Gibelman, 2013).

To begin with, the economic model has a management style that mirrors that of market-driven businesses, aligning goals and objectives with business principles such as supply and demand (Brainard & Siplon, 2004). On the other hand, the voluntary spirit model relies on a management style that is intentionally different from product and services businesses (2004). In other words, the voluntary spirit model insists that nonprofit missions are not business-like, but instead, are centered on solving problems and nurturing relationships (2004). Next, the organizational structure for the economic model has a relatively strict hierarchy where decisions are driven from the leadership, but the voluntary spirit model’s structure relies on collaboration among members to collectively determine goals and objectives (2004). Lastly, since the economic model is business-like, the incentives for staff appeal to self-serving needs, which means the incentives are often materialistic or monetary (2004).
The reason I chose these methods is because most people want all the information that can be gathered before committing themselves to making a donation. In this manner, the historical and future information would be provided in writing as well as giving the prospective constituents a manner of being able to socialize with other donors and people who have use of the facilities. I wasn’t able to find anything stating exactly what type of strategies are being used to maintain their current funders or to entice new constituents to give to their organization. As I sought out information, I was only able to locate via their website a link that led to supporters and the different manners in which a person could make a donation such as, their annual fund, corporate sponsorship, in-kind donations, foundation support, legacy

I am currently employed at a non-profit governmental organization. At times, I believe the organization is ran more like a business than a organizations whose mission is to prevent disease and promote a healthy community. Compared to profit organizations who employ registered nurses with similarly experience, the pay is decreased despite the amount of work that is warranted. The goal has always been productivity, how many more people can we see with less resources, less time and the same amount of staff.
Professional organizations uphold its members and try to improve nursing practice. Professional organizations can serve as a voice in government. There is power in numbers. A community is a group of people who either share a common interest such as church, school, or a geographic location such as a neighborhood, town or city (Mason, Gardner, & O'Grady, 2016). By participating in community outreach programs, nurses use their knowledge, skills, and experience to improve the community's health.
Bolman and Deal suggest that the first guiding concept is that organizations are coalitions made up of individuals and interest groups (2008) and in order to build a strong coalition an organization must
Non-profit sector is very different from both the public and private sectors. It is a tax-exempt organization or social sector which is mainly formed for the purpose of education, religious, art, animal right or charitable (Hatten, 1997). Popular examples for the non-profit organization are World Wildlife Fund, Do Something, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Green Peace and Malaysia Red Crescent Society. The ownership of the non-profit organizations does not belong to anyone, even the founder of organization, which is very different from other form of business.
