After the Revolutionary war, action was taken to create a government. It was called the Articles of Confederation. It was later removed and replaced with a better document . It is known as the United States Constitution. The articles were based on a utopian society whereas the Constitutional law was more realist. One way they were similar was that they were created as a form of government for a new nation. Another similarity was that they were created in order to ensure the people their rights. Although they were similar they were very different. The articles were based on a society of friendship. One rule in the document was that there was that all states agree on a law before it gets amended. The event in which all states would agree is an anomaly. It is based on a realistic type of government. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. This was meant to squash sovereignty. Another rule was that the executive branch has enumerated powers. That means their powers are specifically given. This was created to protect the people from another King George Dilemma. Another rule is that Congress can raise an army. Unlike the Constitution, the articles were not able to draft troops. In an event of an attack the colonists would be defenseless. With the Constitution you are aloud to draft troops in case of an attack. These facts prove to show that the Constitution is the better government. The first reason is that it is realistic. Unlike the Constitution, the articles believe that the states could work as one through friendship. What proved that wrong was the Civil War many years later. Also, the fact that you were not able to draft troops made it worse. Most people do not want to volunteer to join the army; you have to make a draft for people to join the army.
