The needs or ideals of society should outweigh the realities of individuals when the leading party deems there is an essential matter on the line. When the needs of society outweigh the realities of individuals, they are making a sacrifice, doing what needs to be done for the greater “good” in their eyes. Although no one will ever admit it, humans since before we know it, have always been like this, and will never change this feature for the time to come. George Orwell, an english novelist, who realized this at an early time, did a very efficient job at showing this to the rest of the world through his novel Animal Farm. The pigs immediately gain control and leadership of the farm and eventually start to abuse the power. The pigs abuse their power by changing the commandments, living in luxury, and by treating the animals poorly. First and foremost, the pigs start changing the commandments to fit their acts and desires. In the beginning of the story, the animals decide on fair rules that everyone on the farm should abide by.

”The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.” Private property being used as a synonym for everything shall be equal. Marx believed to get rid of everything that made people unequal would make the society work. Though both ideas seem nice in theory Animal Farm illustrates that if you give one man or group too much power no matter what it will corrupt anybody. When Old Mayor 's vision of Animalism was put into use the pigs took charge very fast and ultimately corrupted and changed everything about animalism.

In the allegory “Animal Farm” each character represents a political figure from the days around the Russian Revolution. For example, Joseph Stalin is represented by a pig named Napoleon, Squealer, another pig, represents Stalin’s propaganda department, and the dogs represent the Secret Police (KBG). Using the nine dogs that Napoleon raises (intimidation), Squealer (propaganda), and manipulation, Orwell illustrates how Napoleon was able to gain and maintain control of the farm. The nine dogs that stay by Napoleon at all times are useful for Napoleon to gain and maintain control of the farm because they scare the other animals, intimidating them so that they do not disobey Napoleon.

Stalin, the leader of the Communist army in Russia and the most powerful man in the past uses violence to the ones that go against him. He has a style of dictatorship where many people suffer. Gunshots going across, people dying out, outcry, burst in tears with bruises all over the body, killing in harsh condition all occurs during Russian Revolution. In the book, Napoleon uses dictatorship to order other animals, uses accuration, and give harsh punishment who block his way.

We are often put into situations where individual concern overrules social concern. In other words, It is far more effortless to put yourself before others as it is human. In George Orwell’s animal fable Animal Farm, he portrays the Russian Revolution through animals of the ‘Manor Farm’. In the story, the animals overthrow their ruler Mr. Jones, whom represents Tsar Nicholas II, forming a government identical to communism during the Russian Revolution in 1917 which demonstrates the idea of individual concern overthrowing society concern. After successfully overthrowing Mr. Jones, the animals construct a set of rules known as the “Seven Commandments” to ensure animalism or equality amongst all animals.

This theme is demonstrated by the animals, they have different thoughts about Napoleon from when he was murdering the animals just for having different ideas about him and other things. The theme “Not everybody is equal; some people believe that they are more superior than others” is shown throughout the book, but in different ways. In the beginning of the book after the animals rebelled they created a version of the seven commandments to fit their needs. On page forty-three the seventh commandment states, “ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL” but by the end of the book on page one hundred thirty-three the seven commandments are now one commandment, “ALL

“All animals are equal.” This is the foundation for the novel Animal Farm in which farm animals rebel against a drunken, abusive farmer and create their own society which they think is flawless. Can everyone be equal while societal structure remains operational? The characters in Animal Farm by George Orwell show that every person is different and that societal structure is based on factors such as intelligence, power, influence, and strength with leadership and power as a constant struggle between multiple forces. Every animal in the book had a different role and a relationship with other animals in the farm that affected his/her societal position and power.

In George Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm, George Orwell develops his ideas about the Russian Revolution through a highly satirical story written in the form of a fable. The characters represent actual people in history during the Russian Revolution, which took place in the years between 1917 to 1944, as it talks about a story of a farm rebelling against a human owner and establishes their own way of running the farm, which was effected by Old Major’s speech who talked about a society where all workers led the society, with no actual leader. However, imbalance of power occur as the pigs, who are the smartest of the animals gain influence by supervising other animals to work.

George Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm, was a great example of political satire and allegory. One of the main ideas in this novel was how each event paralleled events from the Russian Revolution. The novel was written to criticize tyrannical rule and particularly Joseph Stalin's corrupt rule in Russia. The characters, settings, and plot described the social disturbance during this period and proved how the good nature of communism could be turned into something atrocious from an idea as simple as greed.
