On convertible tablets, the screen can be flipped, and the device can be used as a notebook. The Apple iPad is a tablet that runs the same software as the iPhone; it has around 10-inch screen and weighs between 460 and 650 grams, depending on the models. This new category of devices allows access to information to everyone, everywhere and all the time. Users can then exchange information quickly and efficiently regardless of their location. Personal computers are then replaced by smaller, less expensive, battery-powered devices connected to wireless networks. These devices often have no keyboard, but a touch screen.
Mobile devices revolution
In 2007, Apple launched its first phone, the iPhone, pioneer of smartphones with touch-sensitive multipoint interface, sensitive to the fingers of the user. The device works like a computer with an operating system and applications. The 3.5-inch display offers 480 × 320 pixels. Its commercial success will be at the origin of the widespread use of smartphones with touch screens at all manufacturers.
In 2008, while Apple released the iPhone 3G (appearance of the App Store), competitors released their models: RIM released the Blackberry Storm, the first touch model of the brand. Android is also debuting with the HTC G1. And Sony Ericsson with the Xperia

Apple on the hand arguably is considered to be the mother of modern smartphones. On June 29, 2007, the cofounder of Apple Inc Steve Jobs announced the release of iPhone, a technology they had been working on for about five years. It was the first of its kind compared to the other players in the market like Blackberry, Motorola and Palm who were already making pocket personal computers. The new tech had a bigger screen, multi-touch interface and the mind-boggling on-screen keyboard was met with a lot of excitement. With these new ideas Apple dominated the phone market and during the Macworld Expo keynote speech, Jobs reported that the Apple iPhone had a 28% market share in Q4 2007 this represented significant growth in the second full quarter that iPhone has been on sale and translated to a
The term Internet has evolved into many meanings since its birth and has become an essential tool as a distribution method. The users being consumers and makers are aware of all situations and give them a headed advantage and an increased competition scenario. The development of e-commerce from mere advertisements to websites and applications on mobile has seen a new tail in making, tossing the old school methods for a leap. This also requires understanding of how the consumers of the targeted market approach this new technology over the traditional approach.
The iPad Apple introduced consumers to the iPad in 2010. By 2015, people had purchased 250 million of the popular computer tablets. Portable with built in wi-fi, some models can also use cellular connectivity to access email, manage personal finances and share news on social networks. Critical Analysis of Quantitative Research Articles Quantitative nursing research is a systematic inquiry of the empirical evidence, collection, and analysis of numeric information conducted within scientific methods in order to examine relationships between two variables of interest, and thus, establish grounds for evidence-based nursing practice (Loiselle, 2011). This paper will attempt to critically analyze two quantitative research articles: “Learning with older people--outcomes of a quasi-experimental study” by Koskinen, Salminen, Puukka, & Leino-Kilpi (2016) and “Impact of a stand-alone course in gerontological nursing on undergraduate nursing students' perceptions of working with older adults: A quasi-experimental study” by Koehler,
However, choosing the appropriate technology is essential to the success of the advertising industry because different markets prefer different ways of conveying information. The use of applications in phones or e-commerce to order goods and services all over the world may be appropriate to a certain market, but media may be appropriate to an illiterate market (Porter, 1998). The development of smart phones is also an added advantage to the development of marketing activities in the advertising industries. For instance, in Singapore China the Taxi industry uses the application in the smart phones to access the consumers. Although the media are one of the appropriate medium to convey the adverts to the consumers,
He always has to have the latest software and device that is released by Apple. The entire point of my meme is to describe how everyone is dying to have the latest IPhone or the newly found Apple watch. Every release date that Apple has creates chaos. Every Verizon, AT&T, and Radio Shack (just naming a few) is packed to capacity with people who want the new found product that has been released, knowing that they will be there once again for the newer one in a few months. We slowly began to see the Apple brand come out with more and more products.
Performance appraisals at any police agency have two goals: “to ensure that employees are aware of the expectations the organization has of them, and to and to assess their activities and performance accordingly” (Chapman & Newsom, 2008, par. 1). With the surge in community policing across the country, it is imperative that agencies adapt their performance appraisals to include community policing standards as well the tradition ones that are still used (Chapman & Newsom, 2008). This way, agencies can determine if the performance of individual officers, units, districts, and the agency as a whole are at acceptable standards and if not, what needs to be done to raise the level of performance. It has been found that 20% of the police officers cause 80% of the problems and only 20% of the officers get most of the awards and commendations (Brooks, 2016, slide 3). A quality appraisal and plans of improvement should recognize both and show what is done when corrective action is needed.
In order to plan our unit based on time concepts, my teaching partners and I needed to assess our students prior knowledge. By doing a pre-assessment, my teaching partners and I were able to determine where to start with our students, how difficult to make each lesson, and what specific time concepts to focus on. We were also able to use the pre-assessment data to determine the range of student understanding, and figure out which students needed more support and which needed more of a challenge. Our pre-assessment lesson mainly focused on basic time concepts and our second and fourth objective, which was time to the minute and word problems. This lesson was done by splitting the class in half, in order to gain a stronger understanding of each
Today, almost every person caries a smart phone with them and some can’t survive the day without it. There are many companies and manufacturers who build smart phones like the popular ones such as Htc, Nokia, Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Motorola, Sony and many more, but what makes those companies not alike are the phones they release through the years, but are they that different? To compare, let us take an example of two leading rival companies in the field of smart phones, Samsung and Apple, who newly released their flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Apple iPhone 6 plus. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7 inch Super Amoled touch screen, a 16 megapixel back facing camera, an octa core processor with 3 gb of Ram and a 3220 mah battery whereas the Apple iphone 6 plus comes with a 5.5 inch retina display touch screen, an 8 megapixel back facing camera, dual core processor with 1 gb of Ram and a 2915 mah
Causes According to Amin & Noor (2013), the E-consumers generally refer to the purchaser of goods and services over electronic systems such as Internet and other computer networks. This new group of consumers is increasing in number over the years as on-line shopping become a trend and manifestation of modern life style. Based from the Paynter & Lim (2001), E-commerce would provide consumers with benefits such as interactive communications, fast delivery, and more customization that would only be available for consumers through online shopping. Product information in the Internet is more compact and it ranges from various sites.
