The source is stating that a country is at it’s best when the individual is allowed to express themselves in a way that is free from government control. In doing this it allows for a society that is reflective of the individual rather than the government. When society is based on the individual, government interference will be lessened because the need for it will no longer be prevalent to society. The United States, the richest country at this time, was one of the hardest hit leaving many people out of a job. With little money to feed their families, many often went hungry. This was known as The Great Depression. This event changed the way society looks at economics in Liberal states and brought about changes. With the lack of economic control by the government the people’s self-interests no longer became something that would benefit society. If there had been more regulation of stocks by the government and rules regulating how much money people could take out of the bank the effects of the depression could possibly have been lessened. Rather, self interests got in the way and peoples freedoms became restricted very fast due to no intervention. Franklin D. Roosevelt introduced the New Deal to help many people that were affected by the depression that started in October 1929. The Wall Street crash in 1929 would be the crash that would cause a depression in America and that was the economic depression. After the depression that Wall Street market crashed. 12 million people were put out of work, which also caused 20,000 companies to go bankrupt. Many people were depressed and were looking for a way out.

The Great Depression was a prodigious event that affected every citizen of America in the time period of 1929-1939. Imagine this. There is a government in where the government causes death by purposely making their citizens sick, giving a life and death test to young, and not mature children, brainwashing their citizens by providing them with TV families, removing their books which is their main source of knowledge, and making sure that their people don’t gain any useful knowledge. These are all points that show how cruel, unfair, and negative government control can be. Government's impact their society in today’s day and age. The government may impact their citizens feelings, behavior, emotion, and even personal thoughts.
Franklin claims that he has been living long enough to see errors that he made, therefore as he grow older, he tend to “doubt of [his] own judgment” because nobody is perfect due to his past experiences (43). The informations that Franklin presents is to show his reputation that he is not perfect, also his constitution but he is open minded and willing to make what is best for the people. The perspective errors of the constitution have, is being “sacrificed to the public good” meaning all the flaw that constitution have will not be reveal to the people (44). Franklin is very passion about what is best for the people and their happiness, furthermore his characteristic is very respectful toward the citizen and the congress.
The U.S. American history is characterized by several events that had consequence around the world. One of them is the market crash of the 1929. In the October 29th, the Wall Street had a huge collapse and important reverberations in the entire American market. During the prosperous 20s the richness was unequally spread among people with the effect that Americans were producing more of that they could have consumed. Then the “easy-money policies” caused a growth of credits and speculations in the market.
A limited government has legal limits on its power and can only pass laws that do not affect personal liberties. A limited government prevents from employing extensive control over people’s live’s, freedom of speech and actions. It also prevents the government from interfering with implementation of civil liberties. It also gives citizens the opportunity to participate in political and social issues and government. It helps provide a free market economy system that enables citizens to have financial freedom.
In the Authoritarian style of government on the other hand, has many benefits, advantages and like any other type of government, has its own disadvantages and weaknesses. I remember in our previous discussions, we talked about Hobbes’ state of nature which states that a person is naturally selfish and that without a government, there would be total chaos so in result, man agrees to be a part of a government. In this sense, man would agree to be under that government and would agree to be served. It is not assured that there would not be chaos if one joins a government but through this form of government, war would be lessened – and it could be render void. Under this type of government, there are benefits and advantages as well as restrictions.
