Japan continued to communicate with the U.S. up to the day of the Pearl Harbor attack. The commander in chief of Japan’s had planned the attack against the U.S. Pacific Fleet with good care. Japanese conquest of all of Southeast Asia and the Indonesian Archipelago would be open.
The planning for the Pearl Harbour attack by the Japanese had been in the making for almost as long as a year if Source B is to be relied on. It states that Ambassador Grew informed the US that Japan was planning an attack in January 1941. Source B also states that military personnel again issued warnings in February and July of the same year that an attack was imminent. Japan had spent months, by this time, systematically planning an attack that would enable them to travel over 4,000 miles and attack the US by surprise without detection. Most of the planning went into successfully co-ordinating the carriers and aircraft to within distance to strike.
On the morning of December 7, 1941, two explosions occurred on Hawaii’s Oahu island’s Pearl Harbor. The bombs were set one hour apart, one located in the sea and one dropped from the air. By the end of the attack, many American planes, military crafts and two battle ships had been destroyed. The death toll was over 2,300. The attacks were from Japan, which at the time was a fascist country looking to expand their nation.
Japan ambushed Pearl Harbor with the intentions of obtaining world domination, vengeance on the United States, and to prevent becoming a third-class
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a calculated move by Japan, aimed at crippling the American Pacific Fleet. The US did not take nicely to the act and promptly declared war on Japan. By declaring war on Japan that brought them into the war in Europe because Japan was allied with Germany and Italy. The US next declared war on those countries. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor for three main reasons; Japan believed it was a necessary step in the quest for world domination, Japan was mad about The many embargoes imposed by the United States, and because of the fear of becoming a third class nation.
In July 1941 Japan became more aggressive and the U.S. takes action by freezing all Japanese cash and goods in the U.S. and cuts off all oil supplies to Japan. On December 7, 1941 Japan launched an attack on against the United States Naval base in Pearl Harbor (Pearl Harbor 9). Japanese planes were flying everywhere, guns blasting and bombs were dropping. It only took minutes for the skilled pilots to turn the harbor into a disaster. The Japanese flew so low that they could see the pilots from the ground(Pearl Harbor).

It was december 7th 1941, a day that japan ensured the world would never forget. Despite high risk japan decided to take the gamble and enact their terror on an american naval base by the name of pearl harbor. Hundred of japanese fighter planes descended onto the naval base taking a total of 2400 lives and wounding over 1000 people. There are three main that I believe lead japan to their decision those things being , oil embargo, us militarization, and the new world order and expansion. To begin with japan was upset about oil embargo.
One reason why Japan wanted to attack Pearl Harbor was to begin a new world order. Japan believed that America stood in their way for a new world order. “An old order… (European and American)... is now crumbling” (Document A). Japan wants to be recognized as a world power.

The first action that came from Pearl Harbor was the United States declaring war on Japan. Japan at the time was allied with the known Axis Powers. On December 11, 1941, Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, declared war on the United States for them declaring war on their ally Japan (History.com Editors 2020). All of this ultimately led the United States into joining World War II. With the loss of many U.S. personnel, civilians showed great amounts of patriotism and were all in on war efforts.
Japan wanted to expand more and keep on attacking more people, while the U.S. had a different view on expansionism. The U.S. did not support Japan in their expanding, leading to Japan fearing of losing strength and power. These are the reasons that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th,
The attack on Pearl Harbor was in fact a terrorist attack. The Imperial Japanese Navy against the US Naval base. This later led to the US to World War II. (Hanson, V.wnd) After 2 years of their conflict the US begins world war II. The war was belligerent.
But what were the reasons Japan attacked Pearl Harbor?
