Compare And Contrast Declaration Of Independence And The Constitution

The United States Constitution and the Articles of Confederation had multiple differences that separated them. However, there are a few similarities that tie them together. To begin with, the US Constitution and the Articles of Confederation are both federal documents. They both had the power to establish an army and declare war on other countries. They could also borrow coins and set up a federal post office.

The Constitution is a call for change in America. It is written very direct and detailed to get the point across. It was written to set laws for the United States, and to set up a reasonable government. James Madison wrote about three branches of government, legislative, judicial, and executive. And it also includes the Bill of Rights.

The founding fathers evolved their ideas about what a government shouldn’t be--which were expressed in the Declaration of Independence--into ideas about what a government should be--which were expressed in the Constitution. The Declaration focuses on being “separate” from Great Britain, using words such as “dissolve” to emphasize the new start for the colonies. The Constitution also focuses on a new start for the colonies, but in a different way. The Declaration tries to define the colonies as being apart from Great Britain, while the Constitution defines the colonies as being “united” with each other.

The declaration of Independece was written first on July 4, 1776 which is now Independence day. Next, the United States Constitution was written on September 17, 1787 which created a National Government, checks and balances, and divided power between the federal Government and the states.

The Declaration of Independence was first chosen by the First Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.. It had a greater global impact than any other document because it helped inspire multiple movements for independence. This document wasn’t accepted at first but the colonists had worked really hard to get their point across. The colonists weren’t in good terms with the Britain government after his policy about taxation.

The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are different and the same when it comes to what they stand for. In the year of 1787 when Delegates from all states, but Rhode Island met up to come up with a new form of government for the United States of America. That than was when the US Constitution was written. There are two major things that are important that the Constitution stands for.

The Declaration of Independence states many different ideas and beliefs in a short form. It includes the ideals, arguments, complaints, and conclusions of the Founders. A committee promptly formed to draft and write the Declaration in response to many grievances against British rule. Thomas Jefferson, a member of the Continental Congress, was chosen to write the important piece. He included personal insight of the committees’ mind, adding their ideas and reasonably listening to other’s ideas.

The Declaration of Independence v. The US Constitution The Declaration of Independence is more important than the US Constitution because of how the contents changed America, socially and politically. For instance, without the Declaration of Independence, technically, the United States would not officially be separated from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence addressed how King George III violated the rights of the men in the colonists.

The US Constitution is a document based on the US Federal government’s law and it presents legal checks and balance for the branches of government. The reasoning behind this system was to give an in depth set of values and guidelines for the American people. It is separated into three parts: The Articles, the Bill of Rights, and the changes and additions. The initial three articles are written to establish the responsibilities, powers, and balance each branch the federal government has.

The creation of the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation came because of a rise in struggle between the competing economic and political forces within the colonies. The British government began to impose unfair taxes and tariffs on the colonists such as the Sugar Act of 1764 and the Stamp Act of 1765. These series of events led to the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. The Declaration of Independence announced the Colonies desire to split from Great Britain because of unfair taxing and violation of rights. The Articles of Confederation created an alliance of 13 states with a weak central government, no president and only a legislature.

John Locke was a philosopher and political scientist. He had many interests and produced a number of writings that influenced future leaders. One of these leaders was Thomas Jefferson, who was involved with the aid of America and the act gaining independence from Britain. The Declaration of Independence and Locke’s views on government contain many similar aspects. These ideas includes the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (natural rights); the protection that is provided by the government for these rights; and the altering or abolishment of government if it fails to provide and protect the rights of the people.

The Articles of Confederation gave Congress the power to govern foreign affairs, conduct war and regulate currency; however, in reality these powers were sharply limited because Congress had no authority to enforce its requests

The Constitution is rules for the president and all of the United States politicians to govern by. In the constitution the first part is called the preamble. It states “ we the people in order to form a more perfect union. established justice ensure domestic tranquility. Provide for the common defense ,promote the general welfare and secure the blessings to ourselves and our posterity.

The similarities of the declaring of independence and the constitution are drafted by similar background. Drafted by congress and a convention in Pennsylvania state house. All people have fundamental right that government create to protect. Basically from the fundamental and how they establish some of the same rules. The differences are that in the Declaration of Independence is to justify breaking away from a government.
