These acts of violence had gotten the British to repeal the act in 1766 but, the declaratory act was issued at the same time as a countermeasure from the British. The stamp act had created the colonist slogan of, “No taxation without representation.” This slogan meant that the colonists thought that the British should not be allowed to create taxation laws without someone from the colonies representing the entire colonies in the British House of Commons. However, it was beneficial that they did not have a representative in the British House of Commons because they would have been outvoted by the overwhelming amount of British members. The mentality of this slogan is a factor why the colonists decided to pursue independence from Britain and this almost tyrannical grip they had over the thirteen

This fact shows how the colonists were on a revolutionary path, but still denied the revolution and were not yet at the point of no return. Both the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, along with other patriots, took money from and ransacked the homes of unpopular officials. As a result, the officials who were supposed to sell the stamps resigned. America had bought 25% of British exports and 50% of British shipping was bringing goods to America, and Britain suffered severely. Merchants and laborers in Britain were out of work and demanded the Stamp Act be repealed.

During the mid-1700’s after “Seven Years War”, the British became submerged under a massive debt from fighting in one of the empire’s most expensive war. To absorb the impact of the war debt, Prime Minister of England George Grenville, shifted part of the war debt to Britain’s colonies. Throughout the mid-1700’s Britain imposed intolerable acts upon the colonies such as the sugar act, stamp act, tea act, coercive acts, so on and so forth. Though the colonies trying to fight for representation so taxes can be passed with a majority’s approval instead of members of parliament making colonists decisions, never declared a full on war with the mother country or even wanted to separate in the first place.

According in the independence of declaration Thomas Jefferson states“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” The start of the war began in 1764 by control over the colonies also the Sugar Act and Currency Act were passed. 1765 Great Britain passed the Quartering Act, this act forced colonist to house and feed British soldiers. Shortly after that they created the Stamp Act, the act made colonist to purchase stamps on many different household items like newspaper or birth certificates. All these Acts added up to the Townshend Acts in 1767.

Colonists thought that they had no rights; their freedom was limited, causing many of the colonists to rebel, the quartering act required them to quarter soldiers showing that their freedom was limited. The Quartering Act (1765, 1774) stated “if there shall not be sufficient room in these barracks, then in such a case the soldiers must be quartered in the homes of the people in the colony” (Doc 5).

The only strategic options they had would not stand a chance up against the British. The colonists were very upset with America about the way they were making laws up until the war began.

During the years 1763 to 1783, the newly established American colonies found themselves in a situation where disagreements were becoming more common. This took place right after the French and Indian War and the nation had a prodigious amount of debt to pay. In addition, Great Britain started to place countless taxes and restrictions on the American colonists to help raise money to support the economy. This unfair treatment really angered some colonists which led to a disruption of order and rebellion in certain colonies. In order to suppress this chaos, the Continental Congress met and created the Declaration of Independence.

How the Declaration of Independence is holding up today. The United States is upholding the principles of the Declaration of Independence not so well. Protests have been rising quickly do to equal rights. This includes people kneeling in the NFL.

Throughout the history of our nation, we as americans have never been together as a team and just accepted our different beliefs. During the 241 years as a nation there has always been an argument, a controversy, a different belief, etc. This issue has always find a way to separate our nation and keep us apart, the Declaration of Independence was created to help with these issues. This piece will be focusing on the beliefs of equality, unalienable rights, consent of the government, and the ability to alter or abolish the government. These beliefs will always keep our country apart and people of higher power need to find a way to dissolve this.

“All men are created equal” was a goal the Founding Fathers tried to achieve in forming the country. July 4, 1776, 56 delegated passed the Declaration of Independence to announce and explain separation from Great Britain. James Madison wrote the Constitution based off the ideas of the Enlightenment period, which had core ideas of personal liberty. The U.S. Constitution established America’s national government and fundamental laws and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens. The Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787, by delegates in Philadelphia and presided over by George Washington.

Everyone has wanted the freedom to make their own choices in life. When making your own decisions there comes a cost as to taking responsibility for those actions. Personal independence can be very difficult at times when making the wrong choice, or it can be very rewarding when an individual is the one making the rights choices for itself. Unfortunately, not everyone in this world is capable of making choices on their own and be able to make decisions on how to live their life, and people who are able to make their own choices take that freedom for granted most of the time. There are so many things that a person can accomplish in life, with making their own choices and having that independence as a human being.

The Declaration of Independence was written many years ago and helped form the constitution, that helped form the state we live in today; so it played a pretty big part in our history and freedom that we honor today. the principals within this document are what gives us as individuals some of our rights that we are born with and no one can take them away, but, unfortunately, the united states government doesn't do a very good job at upholding these principals. the first principal in the decoloration of independence is that all people are created equal, but sometimes the government and people don't respect this principle, such as jail time being longer for black people or not excepting them because of religion color or being gay or giving a

The American Revolution was a political upheaval that took place between 1765 and 1783.The Declaration stated all of this and the colonists said it would be.
