1) It has been a quite interesting reading, something I am not used to reading, but at the same time it has been cool and has made me interested in the events at that time of communism in Russia. Sometimes I have trouble understanding certain sentences or words but I use a dictionary to understand what the text seeks to narrate. Moreover, having animals as the main characters and a farm as the main setting helped me to understand more the story 2) Yes, many times people want to make changes favorable to one group of people, especially when we have witnessed injustices or unpleasant events, we seek to fight for change, however, it is sad to see that just as we can achieve change, we ourselves can act with injustice for other groups as well. …show more content…

If people don't understand them then they are not useful and can be manipulated for their own convenience. 4. Orwell, assuming that the plans had completely disappeared, caused panic and concern among the animals. Assumptions can create imaginary scenarios where you don't know if something really happened or not, and everything remains an assumption, a probability, but not a fact. Finally, I end up being false. Assuming things is quite dangerous because we can make decisions based on ideas that we have and which are not safe, therefore, the decisions we would be making would not be the best or the safest. 5. During the reading, I always thought that the Windmill would not succeed, even though there was a concrete plan, there was no good organization among the animals, and finally, Napoleon and Snowball always disagreed. Part C 1. The group of pigs, they are the ones who have made much of the decisions on the
“Every night it was said he came creeping in under cover of darkness and performed all kinds of mischief. He stole corn, he upset the milk pails, He broke eggs whenever something went wrong it becomes usual to attribute it to snowball” (Document D). The whole farm used poisoning the well and blamed snowball for all the problems on the farm. ”And do you not remember that it was just at that moment when panic was spreading and all seemed lost that comrade Napoleon sprang forward with a cry of Death to Humanity! And sank his
When the animals looked outside they no longer recognized their surroundings and leaders. The had realized that they have been blind and could no longer tell the difference between man and pig. They had become indifferent. This was said by the narrator yet really explains the thoughts going through all the animals on the farm’s heads except the pigs.
I want the windmill to succeed however, I don’t believe it will with Napoleon in charge. Part C: 1. It is stated that the pigs should decide all questions of farm policy, however their decisions had to be ratified by a majority vote. 2. The paragraph states this by saying "It had come to be accepted that the pigs, who were manifestly cleverer than the other animals, should decide all questions of farm policy, though their decisions had to be ratified by a majority vote.”
Why does Napoleon blame Snowball for the windmill being destroyed? Napoleon blames the destruction of the windmill on snowball as a manipulation tactic to create a false enemy to have issues focused on (illuminati is to US Government). Gives them smth to be mad abt. 6. Why does Napoleon order that the hens’ eggs be sold?
An attempt to assassinate snowball, allows Napoleon to rise to the throne of power. Snowball nearly escapes vicious dogs as he gets chased off the farm. _______________________ A debate between the farm animals broke out on whether they should focus on reducing physical work and increase personal customs or improving the animal's ability to defend themselves as well as the farm. In a clear landslide of Snowballs focus on animal customs and good health, Napoleon broke out his secret weapon, which was indeed the missing puppies of the now deceased mother of the nine, now ferocious puppies. Once called to their master, the chased snowball with nothing but the thirst for blood in there eyes, they chased snowball who was brilliantly equipped to
Furthermore, Napoleon gives the other animals the impression he was the sole leader of the rebellion on Animal farm and makes Snowball -a leader who wanted what was best for the animals- seem like an enemy who was in cahoots with Farmer Jones since long before the animals took over the farm. Napoleon and Squealer (another “fat cat” pig.) always put the blame on Snowball whenever something went wrong in the farm to avoid having the blame fall on them. Napoleon is an exemplary example of just how selfish and hypocritical people can be in furthering their own aims because he continued to subtly but purposely change the seven rules put in place as the pillars of animalism. For example, Napoleon and the other pigs move into Farmer Jones’s house and sleep in his bed after commanding “No animal shall sleep in a bed”, so he changes the commandment to read “no animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets”.
The role of religion in “Animal Farm” was to maintain hope, organization/balance and the practice of beliefs/rituals. Religion can be perceived in many ways throughout the story, and is also plays a key role in the characters actions and thoughts. The first set of beliefs that was presented to the animals were “The Seven Commandments” (Orwell 43). Like The Ten Commandments in the Christian religion, here established by Napoleon and Snowball from Old Major’s speech. “They will form an unalterable law by which all the animals on Animal Farm must for ever after”, stated by them (Orwell 42).
After the windmill is destroyed, Napoleon blames Snowball by saying that he is the traitor who is trying "to set back our plans and avenge himself for his ignominious expulsion” (82). Napoleon’s strong desire to keep power drives him to blame Snowball for the destruction of the windmill to make him look good, so he would not be blamed for all the destructions and injuries that occur within the Farm. This impels the animals to assume that Snowball is the victim and consequently the animals would rely on Napoleon to keep Snowball away for their protection. Squealer swindles the animals saying that the windmill was actually Napoleon’s invention and that his opposition towards it is just a fabrication in order “to get rid of Snowball, who was a dangerous character and a bad influence” (71). Napoleon’s only strategy is to make the animals under the impression that Snowball is the source of all destructions in order to keep his power.
He left after the revolution of the animals that Old Major begin. When he died, they begin the rebellion. When the farm was now for the animals, the pigs took the control of it. Napoleon begin to be in competition with Snowball, because he had a lot of idea, others liked him and he was the pig that decided the most.
Napoleon blames the windmill being collapsed on snowballs sabotage, but the windmill had been collapsed because Napoleon didn't know anything about the construction of the windmill and Napoleon had just simply stole Snowball’s idea, the animals still believe that the windmill provides proof of Snowball’s treachery. Next, the french revolution and the revolution that happened in animal farm are gonna be compared to each other and see their similarities and
The animals are tired of Mr. Jones and how he treats them so they overrule him. Napoleon abuses the animals trust and uses his power for evil. Napoleon ends up changing everything in the farm. Many years pass and Mr. Jones also passes away. Boxer and Snowball become forgotten.
He explained to them that Napoleon had locked him up because he was threatened by his goodness and the fact that he wasn’t as easy to manipulate as the other animals. Gradually, he uncovered all of Napoleon’s secrets. The small keyhole was his only way to the outside world - Napoleon’s cruel world to be precise. He told them about the way he took credit for Snowball’s ideas, then had him assassinated, the way he had been a corrupt leader from the very beginning, the way he had Boxer sent to the knackers, the way he had Old Major’s commandments altered to serve him, and the way that all he ever wanted was power to rule over all animals.
At first the windmill was merely an idea that snowball had, that would make life easier for all the animals after the hard work of building it. This “idea” symbolized the hope the citizens of the Soviet Union had for their country. As he did all of Snowball’s opinions, Napoleon soon opposed the windmill. They decided to take it to a vote so all the animals gathered together to have
A group of farmers, most notably Mr. Jones, attack the farm in an attempt to recapture it. Snowball’s leadership during the battle secures a victory, causing his popularity to soar and strengthening his influence. CLIMAX Napoleon declares himself the sole leader of Animal Farm, using dogs he’d trained personally to stage a coup against
Napoleon takes on the promises o Snowball when he regains control, as the animals become more forgetful of Snowball, they do not remember the promises of utopia. Napoleon uses the vulnerable nature of the animals to his advantage, attempting to manipulate the animals and the rest of the world outside Animal Farm to believe the state of the farm is ideal, despite starvation and corruption. “Napoleon ordered the almost empty bins in the store-shed to be filled nearly to the brim with sand, which was then covered up with what remained of the grain and meal. N some suitable pretext Whymper was led through the store-shed and allowed to catch a a glimpse of the bins. He was deceived, and continued to report on Animal Farm” (77).
