There are ways to distinguish what your civil rights and civil liberties are. They have talked about them since they were put into place. Everyone seems to interpret them differently. I will first start off by saying civil rights and civil liberties have been debated and talked about in our government up to this day. They are still interpreting each part in our federalism government we have. Therefore, I will be talking about the issues and distinguishing what civil rights and civil liberties are. Civil liberties are different than Civil Rights. Where Civil Rights are to prevent the government from abusing us by treating the people wrong and unequally. The Civil Liberties are there to limit the government power on the people. It is there to protect our freedom. That is why we have our freedom of speech which protects us people from having the government limit what we say. It allows us to say our opinions on things. Another way it protects our freedom is from letting the government making us the people follow a certain religion. The first amendment allows to practice religion how we want. Another way civil liberties protects us is through are eight amendment that makes sure the government does give us cruel and unusual punishment. It protects us from people abused when be punished for our crimes. Civil liberties are reason for us being so free in American. It protects us from the government getting to powerful over our amendments that are in the constitution. Our federalism government must be following our civil liberties, or they can get in trouble for violating them. That is why they were put into the Constitution the bill of rights to protect our freedom and to prevent the government from being too powerful over the people which is not allowed in federalism since it has two main party’s that make up the political system. It was all started with U.S. Constitution which laid out the ground work for our government and our rights. The civil rights we have keep being implemented and advanced as times goes on and our civil liberties have help us from the government taking too much control over us and making us not a federalism government and into a communist government that can control everything you do and belief in. I feel without these two that we would not be free today and that we will always have a conflict with them since they read differently by each set of supreme court
