Thomas Jefferson can be described as a leader who lived in the present*, whereas Alexander Hamilton had his vision set on the future of the country. As the United States of America takes shape through the molding of our nations leaders such as George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, many controversies arise and these men are the first to set precedent for the nation. Many of these controversies occur during the presidencies of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, although these men were both of the same political party, the way they responded to the call of presidency happened to be very different. As Jefferson and Madison lead the people of the American nation, both held power for the party of Jeffersonian Democrats, yet Madison’s strict interpretation of the constitution tended to contradict the loosely interpreted decisions of his predecessor Thomas Jefferson. In “Washington’s Inaugural Address of 1789”, President George Washington gives a humbling speech on what the American people were to expect during his term. Washington defines the different aspects of his new position to the presidency, and overwhelmingly assures the American people their involvement is essential. He also establishes the notion that the peoples voice matters, and in other words, he’s available to serve the people. Throughout his address, Washington also mentions his acceptance of his presidential status was not an easy decision. In addition to all of this, he openly preached on his religious stances.

With President George Washington leading the nation, there were two visionaries who helped shape our nation. Their opposing views aide in understanding where the Government stood and the economic visions of these two men in the 1790’s. Alexander Hamilton vision of leading the nation was to push the country forward, organizing, and more modern. Thomas Jefferson was an agrarian who believed in keeping order and only that congress should only take action when absolutely necessary. On December 14, 1790 Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury’s Report on a National Bank was introduced.

Throughout American history, there have been numerous shifts and changes in politics and in the government. From the time George Washington was sworn into office in 1789 to Andrew Johnson’s assumption of presidency in 1808, one of the most prominent changes is the transformation of the presidential power and interpretation of the Constitution. As time goes on, the influence of the president gradually expands and evolves from a tightly constrained role into a significantly powerful position. The authority of the president grows along with the expansion of the nation's prosperity and prestige in the world. During the Revolutionary War in the late 18th century, the Founding Fathers created America and established a new system of governing.

Hamilton, representing the “republicans”, and Jefferson representing the “Democrats”, each had plans of action that would only benefit them, but also benefits the people they represent. One of these ideas of government is their thoughts on how to govern state and federal powers. The Constitution gives rights to the people that need to be interpreted so civilians of the U.S. don’t follow them incorrectly. One of these issues that needed interpretation was the delegation of powers between the states and the federal governments. Hamilton felt that a strong central federal government was necessary, due to his past work as treasurer.

Why doesn’t our country suck; Federalism. The Federalist Party began in 1788. There was a major argument between two groups of people that provided a strong government and later led to what we know as the United States to form and become the united country as a whole. Alexander Hamilton was the leader in this large scheme. This party was a debate against the anti-federalists to form a government that made the states and the country stronger.

After a fiercely fought revolution, the newly independent American nation struggled to establish a concrete government amidst an influx of opposing ideologies. Loosely tied together by the Articles of Confederation, the thirteen sovereign states were far from united. As growing schisms in American society became apparent, an array of esteemed, prominent American men united in 1787 to form the basis of the United States government: the Constitution. Among the most eminent members of this convention were Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. These men, held to an almost godly stature, defined the future of the nation; but were their intentions as honest as they seemed?

In Federalist No. 78, Alexander Hamilton lays out his vision for how the Supreme Court of the United States should function. George Washington’s Presidency George Washington, as every American has known since around pre-school, was our nation’s first president. But what if we didn’t have a president? Maybe a king, or even a theocracy? Originally, George Washington thought that maybe a constitution may not work, and a ruling elite may even work better (William P. Kladky). The Constitutional Convention had many long and heated debates on how to best create their government to give equal power to all branches of the government, and a board of three was one of the contenders (William P. From 1787 to 1788, anonymous essays were appearing in the New York Times newspapers. They were published under the pen name “Publius,” who later was found out to be a man named Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was one of the Founding Fathers of the United states. He, along with two other men, James Madison and John Jay, were promoters of the constitution, and were the ones who wrote the Federalist papers. These papers were eighty-five separate essays that’s intention was to urge the residence of New York to ratify the new United States Constitution.

In Federalist No. 68 Hamilton writes that putting the leadership of the country in one person hands was not dangerous. In Federalist No. 70, Hamilton argued that it would be easier to control one president than to control many presidents.
