“Gasland” is a documentary on natural gas and how its drilling affects people. It really lets you see what these natural gas companies are doing. The toxic fumes and chemicals are ruining people 's lives to the point where some of them are dying. “Gasland” makes you grateful for what you have and how clean it is. Think about having to get your water every day and it was 30-50 miles away.

BP spilled millions of barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico; animals die, fisherman loses their job and I still pumped BP gasoline into my truck because if I do not, I will lose my
Winterkorn was able to assemble a team to be effective and efficient in meeting the goals outlined by him. His team worked in a controlled environment and shielded him from negative news and developments, therefore not allowing him to be an effective leader. Overall, having an autocratic leadership style, in combination of being detached from the overall operations and having a corporate culture of performance at any cost created the framework for this disaster to
Still to this day, the Gulf War oil spill remains the worst disaster of its kind. This spill resulted in the death of over 10 thousand sea birds and threatened sea turtles and marine mammals in the surrounding areas (Baumann, 2001). The second largest oil spill was the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, also known as the Gulf of Mexico, or BP Oil Spill that occurred more recently in 2010. This oil spill was caused by a surge of natural gases resulting in the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig. The explosion occurred while workers were at the rig attempting to activate the blow-out preventer, this BOP malfunctioned and the rig exploded killing 11 workers and injuring 17.
BP(a multinational oil gas company residing in London) in 2010, caused one of largest maine oil spills in history after an explosion occurred on their oil rig. Eleven people were killed and others besides suffered injuries. Not only did this incident affect human life but it also of course affected natural life. On April 20th a blast of natural gas exploded through a concrete core recently put in in order to seal the well if later use was needed. Once released from the well, the natural gas traveled to the deep rigs riser, igniting and killing eleven workers in the process.
Off-shore oil drilling is a controversial practice that, economically, is beneficial to our country, but has numerous negative effects on our oceans, and our planet’s environment. Some of these negative effects include pollution of seawater, harm to living organisms, and further contribution towards climate change, and global warming. Many of these oil-drilling companies claim that their drilling operations are clean, safe, and don’t negatively affect the environment, but in reality, these oil rigs sitting in the Ocean are hurting our environment, and many of us don’t even know the extent of it. I’ll be using three examples of how off-shore oil drilling harms our environment, I’ll be discussing the effects on ocean waters, marine life, and
They did everything from lie to the employees to put the employees deliberately in extreme health and physical danger. They not only put the employees in danger but also their families, some considered
Good post Fausto, Its interesting to note that, as you point out, the Exxon Valdez disaster occurred in part because of corner cutting and general neglectfulness on the part of the Exxon corporation and Exxon Shipping. The fact that such wreckless disregard for proper safety measures was common in the oil industry is a disturbing revelation. The ecological damage caused by the Exxon Valdez disaster was unprecedented. It 's frightening to think we could 've had more incidents like this because the oil industry was willing to hire skeleton crews to man their oil tankers to save some money.
The stakeholders in this tragedy are Union Carbide Corporation (UCC USA), its CEO Warren Anderson and shareholders; Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) and its management team; the Indian federal government; the state government of Madhya Pradesh; the associated Courts of these governments; the international community; and the people (victims) of Bhopal. As the Union Carbide/Bhopal communications case study articulates, there was considerable debate within UCC leadership regarding how to respond to the Bhopal tragedy. There were difficulties in getting accurate information from UCIL management as to what had actually occurred, and it was over a week before UCC released a formal statement. Initial considerations by the Board were financial

Offshore drilling: a technique to get oil from underneath the seafloor, has been one of the largest and most helpful breakthroughs in technology during the last few decades. Humans have even discovered many new methods that have been developed to financially help our economy from the abundance of oil underneath the ocean floor. The search for oil is vital for the economic future of many nations. However, risks and consequences often faced in coastal ecosystems and on the mainland are powerful, and could later lead to bigger problems humans have to face; such as less food from interruptions in the food chain, higher gas prices, and not being able to enjoy the oceans and coasts, like we do today.
Communication is an important part when it comes to ensuring the change made during the decision making process is conveyed appropriately. Many see communication as a simple process as one person speaking to another or to a group of individuals and nothing more but really it is more complicated than that. If the new manager were to just show up and start writing disciplinary paperwork, what kind of message would they be sending? One thing that they must take into consideration is “distortion, the difference between the meaning that the sender intends and the meaning the receiver decodes” (Nahavandi, 2014, p. 276). When dealing with the safety shop the best form of communication might be the supportive communication approach because it is “problem-oriented communication that focuses on problems and solutions rather than personal traits” (Whetton & Cameron, 1998).
The degradation of the environment in the Niger Delta, is a direct result of oil companies that have failed to take social responsibility into consideration in their various operations. The numerous environmental consequences of oil exploration have become huge obstacles that face development in the Niger Delta. One of these obstacles are oil spills, which mainly occur
