I think some of the drug laws that are enforced are ridiculous, for instance in the move that we watched in class stated that people are receiving mandatory life sentences. In someone cases because of the drug laws a person can’t get below a 20year sentencing. I agree with you, the system is not fair at all. If you are caught with drugs, no matter the form or type the rules need to be the same for everyone. I think that goes back to the war on drugs, and how because this was not happening it became a drug war (destruction of human life).
These drugs, especially if they were “crazily accessible”(51) should have been taken away by the government. It is indeed impossible to take away all the drugs in a community, but it was impossible for the government to have no knowledge of the issue, thus they should have worked harder to prohibit or lessen drug usage. Plus, it was so addictive that “A pregnant mother sold her body to get another hit”(51). This drives home the point that drugs are detrimental to one’s mentality and health. A mother, responsible for another life on top of hers, is willing to sell her body for drugs.
In 1989, the first Drug Court was created in Miami-Dade County after the courts were fed up with the same offenders and the growing drug cases. A group of individuals employed with the justice system decided to look for a better method of trying drug offenses by forming a drug court division. The group of individual’s solution for the repeated offenses and offenders was to combine drug therapy treatment with the legal authority of the courts. As a team, the drug court concept was effective in c correcting the lifestyle and behaviors of drug offenders. With its success, Miami-Dade Drug court sparked an effective trend and sparked the formation of 492 Drug Courts in the United States and continues to influence justice systems.
On April 20 of this year I attended the drug court which is located in the Erie County Courthouse. The Drug Court is intended to promote healthy and law-abiding behavior for its participants. It acts as an alternative for jail and an individual is free to live in the community as long he or she participates in all services, along with being subject to random drug testing.
Driving Almost all teenagers have their licence by the end of highschool. Some get it as soon as it is possible other ’s
Getting your driver 's license Getting your license is a cheer! parties are fun when you can drive here there! But you can 't drive if you had a beer! Always be sure to keep a spare!
Some would argue against drug test, saying it is unfair. This is fair in order to keep our streets safe and our economy
There are two theories of drug court that not has been proven, but has led to further discussion on the topic. The participants in drug court are predominately Caucasians and African Americans. Drug court participants are made up of 62% Caucasians, 21% African American, 10% Hispanic or Latinos and 5% of other racial groups throughout the US. The first theory of drug court was based on research that drug court offenders are more likely to have positive results related to graduation and recidivism.
Every year illegal immigrants come into our country and with them they bring their children. Roughly a million children are brought here yearly as their parents seek better lives for their families. That’s where the United States struggles to enforce laws and kick them out because they’re young and most likely had no say in whether or not to enter our country. I sympathize for the kids no doubt, but the fact that they have entered the country illegally is unacceptable; for according to the rule of law, no person is above the law nor below it. According to the law, it is ILLEGAL to enter the United States without going through the process of naturalization.
Illegal immigrants evidently have had the ability to leach off of the American government, due to Obamacare. Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most attention needing problems the United States faces. The adversity devised from the jobs that illegal immigrants have apprehended from US citizens is formidable. President Trump has promised that he will reform the immigration laws and following his presidential campaign promise, building a large wall that separates Mexico and The United States. Building the wall reassures the population that we are indeed safe, we are a powerful country and there is no free ride in the land of hope and possibility.
Time after time, immigrants, specifically Mexicans, have shown themselves to be a problem in America. They steal the jobs that should be going to real Americans and cause crime rates to rise. America can’t, and shouldn’t, allow this to happen. We are supposed to be the greatest country in the world, yet we are letting these criminals to walk all over our land, the land that we have fought for since we came here and invaded the natives. It is time we take charge of this monstrosity and make American great again.
We are Mexico's dumping ground for their poor, uneducated and unskilled people. That makes us its social safety net. We bear the costs that Mexico should bear. Mexico's government actively encourages its disadvantaged people to immigrate to the United States, illegally or otherwise.
Drug Addiction Imagine a life where someone is controlled by something that doesn't have a pulse, controlled by a substance that they can see ruining their life but for some reason they can't control the outcome. Substance abuse costs the health care system about $11 billion, with overall costs reaching $193 billion. That $11 Billion dollars could go to treating the addiction rather than treating the outcome, and instead of locking up low level drug offenders, we as a society should help them through their difficult time. And according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), approximately 27 million Americans, or 10.2% of the American population over the age of 12 reported using illicit drugs in 2014. 10% of our society is
I think that drug testing is a very important thing, and now society, some people will use the curiosity of young people on the novelty of goods in the drug trade on campus, many people who do not know often eat. To prevent this from happening, every school should carry out drug-related propaganda to enhance students ' awareness of drugs. But the search for students and property, I feel too compulsive, "since the school officials responsible for the well-being of students in their building, they have the right to search for drugs or weapons at any time," this argument is like the students A serious breach of
My philosophy on the War on Drugs is controversial, in the book we understand that consumption between blacks and whites. However, the sentencing that was used was not reasonable and, or proper. I believe we should be enforcing drugs equally, and the sentencing should be reasonable. First and foremost, the purpose about the War on
The government instead of being supporting this type of laws and trying to legalize drugs, should make an educational plan for youth and teens, and explain them what are the negative sides of using drugs. To increment plans against the use of tobacco and alcohol within minors, and to actually enforce the law of compsuntion, which is 18 in Mexico. Countries like US, actually enforce this law, and the compsuntion of alcohol and tobacco within minors is really really low. Another negative side effect of the legalization of drugs would be the increment of violence, because people who do not have money to buy drugs, would steal or kidnap people for money to spend it on drugs. Most of the violence in Mexico is due to the drug war, and if the drugs are legalized, the levels of violence would increase as well.
