Dry ice is another name used for solid carbon dioxide that is created by carbon dioxide gas. The gas is then cooled to form a liquid and is it put into a block press or pelletizer. Dry ice is an expamle of a sublimation because it does not become a liquid. Solid carbon dioxide or also known as dry ice, does not melt because it cannot exist as a liquid that is why is changes into a gas. It sublimates much quicker than normal ice melts and last longer. The solid carbon dioxide contains such a cold tempature that it is good to use for a refrigerator. If you want to mail something across the world, just pack dry ice inside of it. So if you want to go on a picnic on a hot summer day, pack your food with dry ice. It is way better than regular
