When someone says, they know about early American history they only talk about the few main topics that happened. The historical and knowledgeable roots of the United States during the Revolutionary and Constitutional eras were not just notions of freedom and America that we have today. They are the thoughts and ideas that our founding fathers of this great nation fought for, bleed for and gave up numerous hours trying to construct for the ultimate price, freedom. To know the history of America, we must also recognize the critical political and economic considerations that contributed to the start of the American Revolution as well as the consequences of the Revolution, including the writing and essential ideas of the U.S. Constitution. America at the time was like a teenager and England like a parental figure. America had distance between England had some independence that they gained when the Mayflower went off its course in landed in Plymouth Massachusetts, instead of Jamestown Virginia. The pilgrims drafted up a set of policies they would follow seeing that they thought they we not under direct control of the King of England seeing that they were not in his colony. This led to colonies becoming slightly independent, having the freedom to practice a religion that they chose without punishment. Continuing with the teenager mentality, America wanted a bit more and thought they had good control over what is going on. That is until the French and Indian War from 1754-1763. France and England have been bitter rivals for a long time. With the discovery of new land, both competed to develop settlements there to claim a stake for their country. The French teaming up with Native tribes decided to attack the British colonies to take control of the land. England stepping up like a parental figure sent troops and supplies over to protect its teenager. At the end of the French and Indian war, King George could not take such utter disrespect. The British started to put in new laws and boundaries in place that ultimately would hurt every party that was involved with them. The British had lost a tremendous amount money as well as the French did paying off the money to wartime debt. Lots of Indians lost their lives and had the land taken away from them. The American colonist are the only ones out of the seven year war to come out somewhat unscaled.

In Modern times , American politics are very contentious and are disputed often and publicly. In 1700’s and 1800’s the country was divided from a political standpoint, much like it is today. On one half of the country you had the democratic southern farmers and in the north you had the republican industrial. Theses group were divided on the countries most controversial issues. The democrats were rooted in the slave trade, believed in a “strict” interpretation of the constitution and Nullifcation, and also want to secede for the union for unfair texting.
The American colonies had a past of practicing limited forms of self government. The Colonists came to America for economic freedom, religious freedom, and many more reasons. In 1620, the first Pilgrims were headed for the land of what is now known as Virginia. In a crazy twist of fate, they found themselves in Plymouth instead of Virginia, what is now in Massachusetts.

The British believed since the war was fought on the colonist land and developed because of the colonies the colonies should be the ones paying off most of the British debt that accumulated during the war. The people of America (colonists) were tired of being controlled by England. They wanted to be free and independent. They believed that they were able to control themselves and be their own country. They wanted England to let go of their control and to view them as independent and their own country.
