El Salvador is a beautiful country located in Central America. Because it is located in Central America, El Salvador has a tropical savanna climate with dry winters. Its neighboring countries are Honduras, Guatemala and the Pacific Ocean. El Salvador has many things that makes it the beautiful country that it is, but one thing that stands out the most is it’s beautiful landscape. From the green terrain to the mountains to the volcano located in the capital, San Salvador, this country is definitely a sight to behold.
El Salvador has a total area of 21.040 square km. That makes it about the size of Massachusetts. The total population of El Salvador was last recorded at 6.4 million people. The form of government that El Salvador has is a republic. El Salvador is governed under the constitution of 1983. The president, who is both head of state and head of government, is popularly elected for a five-year term and may not succeed himself.

Many people in El Salvador don’t pay rent because obviously it is a third world country, therefore they don’t unless a gang member demands that you pay, for example, 200 dollars a month directly to them. You can’t say no because one of two things will happen: they will either take your home or your things away or they will simply just kill you.
Cultural Practices A big issue in El Salvador is the marriage issue. Not many people are married simply because they either don’t want too or they just don’t have the money to afford a ceremony. So you see a lot of single women trying to provide the best that they can for their little ones and it’s a sad thing to see. But, if you are married, you as a woman must stay at home and be that “housewife” type of woman. For me, that doesn’t shock me, but because I was born and raised in the United States, I can’t just simply cook and clean because I want a future that involves a career.
