“ You have to be able to accept failure to get better.” This quote means you have to accept failure to be a better person. This quote applies to the story “Electric Boogaloo” because his older self says don’t get caught up in your failures, laugh and be able to tell the embarrassments to friends and family. The author of “ Electric Boogaloo” shows how to push through obstacles in life, how to never give up on what you love, and to accept your embarrassments, and overcome the feelings of the memories. Pushing through your obstacles is a detail from the story, which really spoke to me. This detail speaks to everyone, not everyone has the perfect life everyone and has rough times. I had rough times and I still have rough times. This detail is …show more content…
Both of the scenarios have a big relation to never give up because I always tell myself take my time and never stop until I’m finished. The author has more lessons in the story than just those. One of my favorite lessons from this story is how to look back on mistakes and overcoming them. The detail means when you look back on mistakes you laugh at yourself and you don’t regret what you did. The statement means something to me because looking back on my mess ups and embarrassments, I wish I could go them differently. I sometimes catch myself and make the good out of those memories and laugh it off. All lessons in this story mean so much to me, how I want to do better at school, and just life.To sum up, pushing through hard times, never giving up, and overcoming mistakes in life are lessons in the “ ELectric Boogaloo”. Pushing through obstacles can be hard, but once you get through it you feel accomplished. Giving up is just an excuse to be lazy, working until you are finished makes you never give up. Regretting what you did won’t make you any happier, overcoming them will make a world of difference. “Electric Boogaloo” taught me a bunch of lessons, but it showed me how to be a better
“Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.” William Shakespeare. While everyone struggles through adverse situations, those who choose to act in a positive manner can shape their lives entirely for the better. Through such inevitable struggles we build who we are as people by developing in both an emotional and physical sense, shaping who we are, and how we behave. This is illustrated in the memoir “The Glass Castle” written by Jeannette Walls in which she and her siblings are faced with immeasurable struggles through which they develop into independent adults.
That quote showed that failure is not a good thing but it happens to everyone and you always learn something from failure, even if it's just a simple change it's something you learned from failure. Second, so many famous people have failed and it didn't change them as a person they are still who they are. For example in the text it says “ Plenty of famous people have had their share of epic fails too. Did you know that 12 publishers rejected J.K Rowling's first Harry Potter book?
Across the world, many people struggle with giving up, but in the story “fly away home” by “Eve Bunting” Andrew, a kid that lives in an airport with only his dad, and the protagonist does the exact opposite of that, he never gives up on his dream of getting an apartment, here are some reasons why, one reason how is that andrew wants an apartment and even though he would have to save a lot of money and it would take a lot of time he still did not give up. Also, getting an apartment would give andrew a lot of self confidence. The first reason why Andrew does not give up is that he knows if he gives up he will never reach his goal of getting an apartment. For example,Andrew saves money in his shoe
To be successful, you have to overcome obstacles that will make you stronger in the long run. Both of the texts “The Osage Firebird” and “A Life Painting Animals” inform readers that people have to overcome obstacles and barriers to become successful, but the first text did a better job at developing this idea. “The Osage Firebird” and “A Life Painting Animals” provide many examples for conquering obstacles and becoming victorious. Both of these texts are great at encouraging people to keep trying and overcome obstacles to end up successful In order to be successful, you have to conquer certain obstacles.
Never giving up is one of the most important things a person must do in their life, and the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick contains this as it’s theme. This book follows the life of 2 young boys that have very troubling events over the course of the book, but despite all these events they stay strong, and never give up. We could all learn from these fictional yet very real characters and improve our lives by following their example. If you do this, then limits on you will be re sharpen and you too can accomplish amazing things just like these characters.
However, there is a deeper meaning to be found. This story symbolizes the many obstacles one must overcome to be successful in life. Among the many goals I will try to accomplish in the next 10 years of my life are: graduating
How life goes on we experience a lot of things that can either teach us an important lesson or nothing at all. I have learned more than one lesson in my life, but there’s one that I will always keep in mind to help others like it helped me. Thanks to John Tyler High School Drill Team I have self-confidence and courage to do risky things that I never thought I would be doing. Now I believe in myself and I don’t let fear dull my success, I fight for what I want until I get it even if it take a long time, I don’t give up that easy anymore.
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to better than yourself,” (William Falkner). Joan Bauer teaches us through this story that one can do their best at anything when they try, but can’t always be perfect. And when you try to be perfect every second of every day, it can get very stressful.
If people give up all the time individuals will never get far in life or become successful, but if people try their best until people get better or at least try, people are less likely to fail. To begin, in the realistic fiction novel, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, there is a kid named Brian Robeson whose parents are divorced. So he gets on a plane to go see his dad, but usually stays mainly with his mom. When he goes on the plane for the first time since the divorce his plane crashes in the middle of a forest. Brian has to learn how to survive in the wilderness and hope he gets saved.
You might ask well for instance no matter how great the obstacle or what you’re going through it can be conquered just got to find the will to fight, also another thing that brings these stories together is that they both
In “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge”, “The Rocking Horse Winner”, and “I Stand Here Ironing”, all characters have a specific goal. Where they either fulfill their goal, recognize their obstacle and give up, or just fail miserably. But all the characters at least tried to fulfill their goals. “The Rocking Horse Winner”, is very inspiring that a child could recognize his mother’s despair. Even though, she didn’t believe in his method for betting on horses, he believed in his method, and he also believed that he was lucky enough
The minute you think of giving up think of the reason for the reason why you held on so long. This quote represents the book and movie I’ve recently seen and read “Life Of Pi”. This quote represents the book and movie because Pi is a teenage boy whose parents recently died in a tragic storm. Pi was left with a lifeboat and four animals on the lifeboat with hidden food and water. Pi wanted to give up because he was terrified of the tiger (Richard Parker).
Everyone is told from a young age to not let fear run their lives – maybe this is because they will lead a short and unhappy life, or maybe it’s because fear augments judgment and leads to poor outcomes. In Arthur Miller's, The Crucible, fear is shown to do the latter. The Salem witch trials were a time filled with fear and poor judgment, and the two go hand in hand. John Proctor and Abigail are the “poster people” for letting fear augment their decisions, and ultimately, seal their fates. John Proctor is fearful of many things, and being called a liar is at the top of that list.
I have always believed these lessons help me in my everyday life and the classroom. If I don’t do well on a test, forget my homework or I don’t do well on a project I don’t let it get me down. I think learning what you did wrong, fixing it, and getting it right the next time should be the goal. A failure needs to become a learning experience that you can build off of.
In this text, the message best told in the story is, not everything comes easy, even when you’re happy.
