In this document analysis I chose, was about Elizabeth Springs who was an indentured servant in Maryland who wrote a letter to her father who lived in England. She writes to her father stating that she hopes that she could come back home, and that she forgives him for all the wrong he had done. She explains to him that she is living miserably day and night and being treated like an animal. The beat and rape her. Her lack of not eating, not having much clothing, or shoes, she feels like she is being mistreated worse than black people. In her letter she wants her father to have some compassion and send her some relief, of clothing. In the end of the letter she put your undutiful and disobedient child, meaning she is performing the duties for her family, and she feels because what is happening to her that she is not an obedient child. In my opinion she might have been a bit biased to an extent. She knew the treatment she was getting, but also recognized how the blacks were being treated as well, but to say that she was treated worse than a black person might have been exaggerating. No one will ever know the truth. To me if any person black or white who has not been feed properly, nor had decent clothes, and have been beaten, it’s all the same abuse. In this life time era, it shows that many younger men and woman had a hard time living: trying to survive to live in the New World of America. I want to say that this document was trustworthy, because Elizabeth Sprigs was getting her point across that even though she was a servant, it was not permanent, and she will eventually have freedom. As I read her letter, that was wrote to her father, it saddens me that centuries ago they could be so cruel. The diary excerpts of the Philadelphia Quaker, Elizabeth Sandwith Drinker originated from 1758-1794. During the early sections of her diary, she documented her progress with her needlepoint projects. However, once she marries a merchant named Henry Drinker, her entries begin to shadow the works of other women rather than her own. The purpose of her entries were originally to log her projects based on their completion and the intended recipient. The entries purpose, however, shifted as she began to take note of those women who worked underneath her/performed tasks for her, at that point her entries had narrowed in on the occupations of the women she had encountered.
Elizabeth Anne is presented as a sympathetic character in the short story "Elizabeth Takes the Reins". Elizabeth is portrayed as the "sensitive" main character who later learns to do small things on her own. There are three primary reasons that show she is a sensitive character. First, she was forced to go somewhere she did not want to go. Secondly her aunt, named Frances has either died or has gone somewhere, third her Great-Uncle Henry has no sympathy towards her at all.
In the letter written by Martin Luther King Jr. called Letter from Birmingham Jail, gives the audience a demonstration of how he saw things. The focus being paragraph fourteen, in this paragraph there are twelve causes most, which are dependent clauses, except for one independent clause. In this paragraph when king says, “perhaps it is easy for those who have never felt the stinging darts of segregation …” Mr. King here tries to give an example of how it feels like to see the ones you love being hurt, he wants to put into their heads the immense pain the colored people went through. There is a sentence, an important one in this paragraph where Martin Luther King Jr clarifies the gravity of the situation.

The first reason that Abigail Adams does not like the White House is because it is unfinished. From the text “ There is not a single apartment finished, and all withinside, except the plaster, has been done since Briesler came.” This is my evidence because it shows that she does not like that the apartments and plastering is not done.
Every mother wants what the best for her child, even if that child may not believe so. In her letter to her son, John Quincy Adams, Abigail Adams addresses him during his travels in France and defends the rationale of her previous advice while providing her new advice, and partly demands, on the subjects of honor and duty. Abigail Adams uses emotional appeals in the form of personal repetition, flattering metaphors, and prideful personification in order to advise and persuade her son in his personal growth and appeal to his personal qualities, such as pride of honesty and knowledge, to spur his ambitions and actions. To start off the letter, after greeting him and explaining the occasion of her writing, Abigail uses personal repetition with the word “your,” before qualities and events with a positive connotation to appeal to John’s pride and leave him open to listen to more of her her advice, as she already successfully advised him in his trip to France. In only the second sentence of the letter, Abigail already throws in that her advice is, to John, “for your own benefit,” (5) later she speaks of, once again to John, “your knowledge,” (11) and finally, “your understanding,” (14).

Slavery started when they brought the first american colony to the united states. Slavery was practiced through the american colonies in the 17th and 18th centuries. Slavery means to get bullied and bossed around about somebody.
Abagail Adams wrote a letter to her son, John Adams, who is traveling abroad with his father. Abigail Adams, who was a women back then during the Revolutionary War, didn’t have much political rights. Adams was huge in politics and so was her son, second president of the United States. Adam's uses rhetorical devices to advice her son that he is the only person that can control his future and he must know how to pull through difficulty when it's being tested. To advice her son about this, she uses many rhetorical strategies.
Abigail Adams in the letter to her son, John Quincy Adams, suggests that he be brave and a great man. Adams supports her suggestion to John by explaining what he should do and that he should be strong, mentally, on the trip. The authors purpose is to encourage the son to be a strong man in order to last on the trip, do honor to their country, and become a great man in the future. The author writes in an inspirational tone for her son John Quincy Adams. She incorporates many different literary techniques in order to get the mood and tone across to her son.
Throughout the letter Adams uses phrases like “my son” or “the son of your father.” Her purpose through this is to display to her son that he has nothing but support from both of his parents as he grows into the man he chooses to be. She explains that he is very fortunate to have “superior advantages,” meaning the wealth of their family, yet he should never stray from the morals that were taught to him from “a tender parent.” Adams concludes her letter with “…do honor to your country, and render your parents supremely happy, particularly your ever affectionate mother, A.A.” In this final sentence she includes everything that she expects from her son as he travels, learns, and becomes a

Through this section, Gross spoke about how laws existed to protect people, but black women were considered to be extremely sexual beings thus the law said that black women did not deserve to be protected. Gross used the experience of a woman named Hester and the using this experience in Gross’s writing made the talk about slavery much more effective. Furthermore, women were actually punishable by death if they choose to fight against their captors. Which further discussed the issues of being denied protection but fatally condemned by it at the same time. The last argument that Gross makes discussed how even though there were less African American living in a city compared to Caucasian or Latinos, but, female African Americans still took up 47.5% of prisoners.
