The second thing that I have attended for learning outside the classroom was the Heidelberg Cross Country Meet. This would be like my fifth cross country meet I have attended in my life and they are different than football or volleyball. I like cross country meets get some walking in and cheer them on and watch people do something as simple as running and have fun. The athletes get to run on some pretty cool courses some places so I think it is neat. There are multiple reasons why I choose to go to this event. First off I like to change things up and go to things I don’t normally and there was a group of track people that were going and I choose to go along and watch. Cross Country is also the most not watched sport. People don’t realize how much time and work goes into it. I like to run and they run like triple what I do, they run like 30 plus miles a week. They love to run a bunch and can run forever; they train to run triple what they actually do so it is easier. Next some of the ideas I thought of during the Cross Country Meet. During the meet I thought how hard it is to run 3.1 miles on hills and wet …show more content…
First off all the Athletes enjoying it and doing really well seeing a close family makes me want to go to some more and see what they can do this year. I attended the event with some people I know from the track team that were working the event. We talked it about the event afterwards for quite a bit. I stood towards the finish line with a group of people and they were surprised to how well there were doing also and how far some of the runners were out front of the others. Plus we talked about how the girls were doing really well, but they expected that because one of the girls did a great job last year. I am defiantly going to attend another one of these events in the near future. A similar event I play to attend will be some indoor track meets
With my relay team stretched, warmed up, and ready to go, we headed towards the stadium where we would race against the fastest girls in the nation. Intimidated but not deterred we headed out of Tent City and into the gates of Turner Stadium. Knowing this was my last race I would run with my close friends and relay team, being it 's the last race of the season and we all weren’t going to be in the same age group next year, I had a whole new mind set. I was constantly thinking, “we have to make top ten because we can make top ten.” “We have the times, we have the strength, we have the speed, we just need to have the guts to walk in there like we are going to shred the track into pieces.
Of course, as you'd expect I got fourth place in that race. Bummed from the results I learned to keep my head high and keep working I mean I was just a freshman. In the end track taught me that there's always someone better, or faster you just gotta work harder than them. My final sport that I have a passion for is rugby.
Hello, I am Ryan Judge, and I have developed (with a group) a 6-week program to train a client for a 5k. A 5k is 3.1 miles, so it is an endurance run, something that is not meant to be done fast. In this essay, I am going to tell you about the fashion of our training program, and why me made it the way it is. The client that we made our 6-week training program for is a 13 year-old girl with no medical history.
Getting off the bus, I was ecstatic. It was my chance to help my team in achieving our biggest goal. For fall, the day was particularly hot and humid. I enjoy running in cool, chilly type weather, so the heat was a conflicting factor in my race. But I refused to let the heat bring me down.
During my final year of Cross Country around Regionals at Oglethorpe, I ran my final race for my high school career. Banks County was nearly number one in the State, the furthest we had ever ranked in history, and spirit and hopes for State Championship were high. I was nervous, like nobody’s business, I had messed up during my senior night because I was upset for my parents for not showing up and escorting me. And I was scared that I was going to do horribly. But as I ran, I realized that if I let my past mistakes and failures hold me back or get in my way, so I ran, harder and better than I ever had before and apparently even beat a “skinny kid”.
I am also looking forward to the beginning of the track season. If you ever have the chance to play sports at C.M.S., I highly encourage you to go out for that sport. I was highly encouraged to play baseball this year, it was a great decision to play. Usually baseball is one of my least favorite sports but, this year it was definitely one of my favorite sports. Coach Hanner was the baseball coach this year; he provided a very fun season while keeping it serious at the same time.
I had plenty of time to think about my runs considering that Rock Springs is 15 long hours away. Once we got there is when all the nerves started to get me. I found out when I drew up and it just happened to be Sunday night and Saturday morning which meant I had almost a full week to see my competition go. It also meant I only had two days to mentally prepare myself. On Saturday morning I got up early and worked Fancy one last time before the round that night.
Rodeos are big events all over the country. Families come from all over to enjoy watching cowboys compete at the rodeos. While some people come to rodeos to document the abuse and harm that the cowboys are causing the animals. It is a big controversy whether rodeos are animal abuse or not. Animal rights activists are trying to stop rodeos from “abusing” animals, but they don’t know the extensive care that the animals are given.
I enjoy doing cross country because the people I do it with. I like our coaches they are very positive and fun to be around you can always hear them cheering you on at the meets. I like my teammates they are always nice and also cheering you on at the meets. Cross country has taught me to be a better team mate and to relax and just have fun. Thanks to my sisters for persuading me to join the team!
It feels like it just flies by in seconds. Races can be very hard if runners haven't trained though. They have to set a good pace for themselves. If they don't, racers might run way too fast in the beginning and then get tired and won't be able to keep running. This sounds silly, but runners will also have to make sure their shoes are on tight
I had spent months training for those 20 minutes. I prepared for every possible thing that could have gone sour during those fleeting moments that would determine how my freshman season would end. If the start was too slow I would gradually speed up after mile one. If my hip injury worsened mid-race I would alter my stride to avoid pain. What about if I completely fell apart one mile in?
Coach Charlie always tells the cross country team that," they just gotta believe," which is definitely true for racing. It requires great mentality to be able to push past all your pain to beat your time. In order to be able to improve, a runner must be able to push himself or herself further even when they are exhausted. Running is the greatest
Ask anyone and they will say that we have done a lot of damage to the Earth, but what have we done to ourselves. Today’s society is full of overweight or obese people and it’s killing us at a fast pace. Someone is considered overweight if they have a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 25 and 29 and obese if there BMI is 30 or higher (World Health Organization, n.d.). That being said at least 2.8 million people die each year because they are overweight or obese (World Health Organization, n.d.).
Track & Field Track and Field looks like a very simple, easy, boring sport to most people but it’s really not. Some people don’t want to join track because “they don’t like running”, what some people don’t think about is the field part of Track and Field. There are many different options when it comes to track and field. Track and field is a very enjoyable sport to most of the members.
A 30 minute 46.3 mph average speed, plus high heights from 80 foot jumps, and risks of major injuries even death.(BeauxJeaux) What is an extreme sport audiences can't take their eyes off? The exhilarating sport is a jaw dropping sport with riders that are a different breed of athlete. A sport full of physically fit riders. This is the overlooked sport of motocross.
