On April 19, 1995, at 0902 hours, Oklahoma City was rocked to the core when a bomb was set off outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building (History.com Staff, 2009). A total of 168 people were killed, another 850 were injured as the result of the bombing. At the time of the bombing, there were no indications of who was responsible for the disaster. While searching the debris investigators discovered a twisted axle from the vehicle where the bomb had been located. The hidden vehicle identification code led investigators to a rental facility in Junction City, Kansas (Goodman, 2017).

Under the name of Mike Havens on October 18, 1994, McVeigh and Nichols purchased forty fifty-pound bags of ammonium nitrate in McPherson, Kansas (Serrano, 1997). In October 1994, McVeigh and Nichols planned a robbery of a firearms dealer in Arkansas as a means to obtain money to help finance their planned act of violence. On November 5, 1994, McVeigh and Nichols stole firearms, ammunition, precious metals, United States' money, coins, and other property from a firearms dealer in Arkansas (Fox News, 2001). On about November 7, 1994, Nichols rented storage unit No. 37 in Council Grove, Kansas in the name Ted Parker and used the unit to conceal property stolen in the Arkansas

Timothy McVeigh was found guilty of the bombing of the Oklahoma federal building on the morning of April 19, 1995, one of the worst deadliest terrorist attacks on American soil (Biography, 2017). Born in Lockport, New York, McVeigh grew up liking guns and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War. Upon being honorably discharged out of the United States Army, he became anti-government because he did not like the way the government handled Waco and Ruby Ridge (Murderpedia, 2017). There was a huge truck bomb explosion on April 19, 1995 it happened outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma. This bombing ended up leaving 168 people dead and and so many more injured. Timothy McVeigh was the one who set off this blast and was put to his death for these crimes in 2001. Timothy had a partner who's name was Terry Nichols and he ended up receiving life in prison. This tragic bombing was the worse attack from terrorist to have taken place on the United States soil, until September 11, 2001.

On April 19, 1995, Timothy Mcveigh committed the most devastating terrorist attack at that time. This terrorist attack is known as the Oklahoma City Bombing which caused panic and chaos all over the United States. Early on that day, a Ryder truck containing a bomb made its way to the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. This building was a United States Federal Government complex located in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma which included a day care center. Half of the building collapsed a couple seconds after the bomb which was located in the the truck denoted.

Only hours after the deadly blast, McVeigh and a friend, Terry Nichols, were pulled over by the OK State Police for a license plate violation ("Timothy McVeigh Biography", 2016). McVeigh was arrested on that stop for carrying a concealed weapon; unbeknownst to the trooper of the heinous crime he had just committed ("Timothy McVeigh Biography", 2016). An eyewitness to the bombing led authorities to McVeigh who was charged just prior to being released from jail on his gun charges (“Oklahoma City Bombing", 2009). That same day, Nichols surrendered to authorities in Kansas (“Oklahoma City Bombing", 2009). At the sight of the bombing, parts of the Ryder truck were found and was traced back to the renter, Robert King, which was an alias used for McVeigh (Saferstein, 2011).

April 19, 1995, McVeigh bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He believed in the resistance from the government. Timothy bombed the building in retaliation for the siege at Waco,Texas. The effects were costly with 169 lives lost. This lead to higher security and the FBI to prioritize more terrorism cases.

McVeigh should have lived so he would be reminded every day what he had done. This large calamity took many years to complete. Timothy McVeigh had helpers along the way. While McVeigh was in the army he met his two war buddies, Michael Fortier and Terry Nichols.

The three men wanted to show the government that ATF violated their rights which threatened them. McVeigh was a former soldier who served in the army with the two other men named Terry Nichols and Michael Fortier. The three men became friends and developed a friendship based on their anti-government attitude. McVeigh wanted to bomb

Terrorist campaigns were climbing in decades prior to 9/11. A group of terrorists attacked New York’s World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. The aim of this attack was to drive two bomb loaded trucks into the basement of a building to bring down both of the towers of the World Trade Center. The mission was not accomplished, but the attack did kill six people.
