Introductory Paragraph Bernie Sanders' presence was very calm but aggressive and it helped him get his point across during the speech. Bernie in the speech addresses right for different individuals, poverty, and events happening right now that require everyone's attention. Bernie Sanders' speech was effective and informative because of the connection he made with most of the audience, his morals, and the knowledge he has on the topic spoken about. This paragraph will critique the group’s ethos used throughout the essay. First, it was great to start the introduction paragraph with information for the reader to know what to expect the essay to be about. Secondly, referring to the seventh paragraph, it is the best paragraph using ethos. It uses many credible sources from the citations. It displays the knowledge the group have about the material with many examples and it was executed well with strong use of word choice.
1. Describe the type of speech--informative, persuasive, celebratory. Why? I would say overall this speech was celebratory with persuasive tones throughout. This speech was made to commemorate and celebrate the accomplishments of what has been done so far in the United States, while urging for action from each party and member of states in order to make a better America.
Letter to the Editor: An Unreliable Source After having researched through several different letters to editor’s I found a topic that I found interesting since I am just now starting college classes this year. The letter to the editor I discovered is titled “Universities Teaching Racism.” It was written by a Jacqueline A. Postal. Happiness is a state of mind, and one doesn’t need physical material to be happy, which a majority of people view to be the primary source of happiness. Simply put, a person has the power to control whether they are happy or not. The author utilizes pathos, ethos, and logos to highlight the main ideas, demonstrating his mastery of the material. A prophet that I’m insinuating here is Moses who has shown on countless occasions has many reservations on becoming a prophet. This idea is highlighted in the story of mana as recounted in the Old Testament. The story of mana is an intriguing tale that highlights the complexities of human nature, faith, and divine provision. Through various rhetorical strategies like pathos, logos, and ethos God and Moses are able to mold their extremely malleable relationship while “solving” the qualms of the Israelities.

Aristotelian Rhetoric consist of three elements Pathos, Ethos, Logos. Pathos exploit an audience's emotions, evoking pity from the crowd. Ethos appeals to ethics of an audience, convincing listeners of the speaker credibility. Logos use two different approaches, inductive, and deductive logic in an argument. Inductive logic gives the audience similar examples, then draw a general proposition.
